I saw him open for Atari Teenage Riot last year and it was literally the worst live performance I have ever seen.
he prob did everything he was aiming for then.. think he's shooting for weirdest guy ever award. I only listen to his studio work, haven't seen him live.. he played last week in LA and missed it. guess I didn't miss much huh? for the mellow hours white rainbow
Right now, Lucero is in high rotation. I got an invite to their more recent show here in Philly and was able to watch the set from the stage (been backstage before, but... never ON stage. It was rad) which added to a great evening. Their new stuff is more upbeat than their older stuff... but right now I'm going through a pretty hard time so the more mopey 'tear your heart out' older stuff is really helping.
It has been a long time since I have heard a hardcore record I liked. Not as good as the demo, but the Boston Strangler LP is a rocker.
If you guys are looking for some chill beats and stuff, check this guy out: http://stewrat.bandcamp.com
http://snd.sc/KCYo9C I have been listening to a lot a of dubstyle recently. ironically this guy recording under the name "Hedorah" is really good.
i can pretty much get into a little of every genre i think... maybe not so much into one... but my baseis hip hop/rap/r&b... been playing murs latest album heavily the last 2 days... some gems in it... some ehhh not so much.
Song of the Day: Curious Digits. One of those forgotten bands from the mid-/late nineties. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFJ7j7CT9xg
I was with music journalist friends once and they were making fun of me, saying if I were into Discord Records, I'd be into Lungfish and not Fugazi. Hilarity ensued when I admitted loving Lungfish.
I've had two dreams already about the Rammstein concert I was at earlier this month. It may drive me mad if it keeps up. I haven't looked through this huge thread yet so if anyone else is into them I haven't seen it
I'm an Ian MacKaye guy myself. So that means I like about 1/2 of Fugazi, and all of Embrace and Minor Threat.
So Rise Above is repressing the Uncle Acid "Blood Lust" record? Been wanting it on vinyl, but not "will pay $300" wanting it. YEESH! Glad they're doing it, should hit in July.
Rise Above does represses all the time, sometimes several times. That's why I think it's utterly ridiculous that people pay outrageous prices for any of their releases. But yea, I'm geeked about that too -- Incredible album.
Sweet! I've been hoping they'd get around to a repress! Unfortunately the shipping prices makes buying records from them very expensive.
