Yes indeed it does. Mine needs a charge though, kind of a dim glow currently. It ranks right up there as one of my favorite Buta figures.
I believe two of the Baltans glow (pink skinny head and green fat head), the pink Hayabusa Vaccum Cleaner Lady, and the blue/red on yellow glow vinyl event Kong.
...as does the most recent Thunder Mask, and, y'know how the 2nd generation of King Joe was sold as 4 separate toys? I don't know if a whole GID Joe exists, but I've seen the legs and middle bit in GID both for auction via Y!J as well as featured in Buta's blog. "I'll bring this festival to Wonder (see also yellow-green) Thunder mask. (Really subtle) glows in subtle ways." Almost forgot the yellow Pandora & Chinpe set:
Wow. I knew that a couple of 'em glowed, did not know there was so much variety. Thanks for showing! Cool.
This is Takora? Not so sure. But one thing's for sure! Theses two sculpts are madness! Love the face on the three-breasted seijin.
Amazing! they look to be some king of collaboration release. Would love to know how i can my hands on these, they would look really nice with the rock paper scissors unpainted's
^^^ Agreed! Available HERE according to the blog. Anyone who can unpuzzle this please hook a boardie up! Edit: NOW I get it... I'd love to see some scans from those of you that have any of the above books!
I've got some cards that Grace was kind enough to give to me, scans of the Buta mini books. Indeed these characters come from these booklets. What I thouhgt were breasts are actually eyes. All of these are amazing sculpts and characters!
i have no idea what's going on with these things, but i like what i see. when you say booklets, are they full-on storybooks or just pamphlets of designs & short background stories, a la elegab? can't quite tell from those photos. for me, these turned out much better sculpted and more fun than the micro ultrakaiju set. love the base vinyl color.
They're basically kids' books. Ohashi was an illustrator long before he was making toys and these are his own characters. Super short, super simple stories but they have proper binding, et al. I've got a couple of his newer ones around here somewhere. The older ones with the pig and monkey on the bike are out of print but they pop up on amazon.jp used every once in a while. The S-Taiin edition is definitely a booklet. I really dig these. I have wanted a sculpt of KiKoKiKo for ages....
that's all i need -- out-of-print books to track down on top of impossible to get toys. thanks for the info, i guess?
You forgot to mention that it will all be in Japanese Ah, we are so easily distracted, aren't we. I wonder if carrying around small toys to divert our gazes would be an improvement - or not.
I'm loving the books ! I tried to order them a while back but they where too damn expensive. Google up 重信大橋 (Shigenobu Ohashi) to see some other children books he did : )
Yup, for reals. Bunny, Frog, Owl, and Mushroom.. maybe more. I think these were all before any toys were made. Maybe not before the spaceman.. not sure.
