Ah, my mistake. I must've have missed those posts completely. Sorry guys, and belated congrats to you both!
actually buta's "reissues" are usually extremely limited in quantities, more like old stocks they kept behind for whatever reasons. for this reason, during their last show at TO a few years back, they had quite a number of these "reissues" for their older figures. I remember i was completely spoilt for choice to be able to pick them up limited only because i don't have enough cash on hand after spending a lot on their customs. so i think these "reissues" will hardly make a dent on the demand and supply.
^^^ Isn't the only other time that he's done an official new run of an older colorway the blue Kanegon? Seems other sightings were de-bunked as you say: dead-stock teases.
I was able to score one but mine is still milling around Japan somewhere. Judging from that michevious grin, I am assuming it is on one hell of a bender. I expect I will be receiving a pickled peanut when it does finally arrive.
^ So good, right? I've been resisting the urge to post them. Event exclusive being sold tonight: Exhibition of Sleep Talking Cat! Yet another pair of oddities that I'll probably never be able to get a hold of... anyone have a friend in the neighborhood?
Both versions of those mini cat tanks are pretty special. Who doesn't like cats (besides my g/f who is allergic but really dislikes them anyhow)?
Man! These Cat Tanks or Tank Cats are great. Looks like its for an exhibition by Bilken-Shokai. Biliken is so good at showing weird and kooky art.
Those Tankitties are really great! I wish there were more colours so I could build a [literal] cat army. I guess these are special exhibit only, like the peanuts, but I would love to see these available in the gashapon machines (unpainted most likely) - even if that doesn't really mean I would have any more access to them - just seems right.
Seriously though! I do like those kittee tanks! It almost makes me suspect that Ohashisan might have read our comments (in the Toygraph Racers) about making Buta Racers
The kittytanks are really smallish only 4cm. But being painted especially in black is a plus Now off to some buta bun actions There is no chance for the redking. I think its a restock and not full blown reissues.
I absolutely love these! I have a thing for kitties and deadly weapons. My cat Hayao... go to the 37 second mark here; http://ralphcosentino.com/project/fun-b ... trailer-1/ Does anyone have any more info on these little guys?
Go Hayao! As for the dangerous kitties... well, they were Oohashi-san's contribution to the group show that I posted about above; my friend that went said that they were 1,200Y each and one to a person; and that there were 30-40 total of them available there. Another friend forwarded me some info that M-Word was happy to sell you some for the low low price of 3,900 per!
What Biff said. I like the new peanut body, but I guess I am a twisted person, because looking at it is just creepin' me out. I must have seen too many horror concepts in the past - my 'cuteness' interpretation has been tainted.
I don't think you're too far off there, Steve. He did say in his blog that the original sculpt was an attempts to show both a happy and a furious god... http://sofutoyakigangu.blogspot.com/201 ... st_19.html Anger + smile = jokes
Well there is the face definitely, which isn't helping (or is, depending on your viewpoint), but it was more of the human arms and legs coming out of the massive peanut body. I think it is because the limbs seem larger/thicker, and more prominent on this one, than are typically seen on anthropomorphosised food/cutesy characters. What crazy, evil mastermind created a mutant kewpie monster to rain allergens down upon the masses?
