When you told me at Comic Con you had contributed to it, it kind of blew my mind. The book is INTENSE. It could literally kill someone. Jam packed with so much black metal. It was not nearly as deluxe as this but was JAMPACKED. It literally hurt my eyes to look at it but was amazing at the same time. Small and thick. That was part of what EsoTerra was all about but with a narrower focus... and it was pre-internet, mostly. England's Terrorizer magazine always got extreme music from the git-go. I could read about Current 93 and Earth Crisis in the same magazine. Say what you will about media journalism, but you could find out about all sorts of genres and bands from this magazine. I got to write for the mag in '96 and '97 and I am glad to see that it is still around. As for Slayer Magazine, I use to send out copies of EsoTerra to like-minded magazines everywhere. These included Descent magazine and Slayer Magazine, among others. I still have my copy of their black metal issue somewhere around here.
