A collection of just minis or micros would probably be tight.
But I think five inch figures or bigger is the best size.

This was inevitable, and a wise move on Gargamel's part because as collectors grow older and spend more time in the hobby, the less shelf space they'll have.
How much cheaper will they be, though? You can make the toy smaller but you still need labor to assemble and paint them. Any details?

I think they are about 1.5" tall. No price on them yet but the micro smogon was $40-45, it was part of the lucky bag so I am not sure if that will stick.

Jesus Christ in a rocket-powered wheelchair! That's expensive. I wonder what they'll cost when they're released individually or in smaller sets.
The weeble-like proportions of these might make it easier for them to do clear versions with guts and stuff inside.

Maybe they are 2" tall. I think at some point making them smaller doesn't cut the cost much. The vinyl cost (amount used) between the mini and micro is probably pennies. Basically you are paying for the labor, shipping and packaging.

Yeah, from what I understand there is a range in which your final cost per piece isn't affected much by the size of the toy, but they can cut down production time a bit with smaller toys because they can cram more body parts into each mold.
Still, they're cute. I hope they do something special with the designs like translucent doodads or other gee-gawgery.

I have a bag of micro micro Gargamel figures that I got from somewhere.
Must be like 50 or 75 in the bag. Probably 3/4 inch tall representations of some of the older figures with more of a flat style to them. Hard to explain.
