The next time you're in Tokyo, if you're ever in Kichijoji, try and make it to The Bar of the Dead. It's super-cheesy, fluorescent lights, waitresses dressed like priestesses, mechanical spiders that drop down from the ceiling, you get the jist. It's like a cross between a magic store and a wine cellar.
The coolest thing on the menu is called "Russian Roulette." You get a bowl with several little fried dumplings on skewers, equal to the number of people in your party. The lucky ones get a normal-tasting one, but the "victim" gets one loaded with horseradish. Both times I've been there I've been burned. (literally)
