Post suggestions for customizing..
I just got a rainday skullpirate who seems to be a little off on his footing. I was wondering what clays I might use to make him a little more balanced. That's the first step, then I think I'm going to customize him...i was thinking maybe some FIMO clay..

Clay won't do, try an epoxy. the two color kind you mix by hand. Tamiya make a couple different kinds and Games Workshop has a version called "green stuff" Either will do the trick... should be available at most hobby stores that sell models.

ok...that was gonna be my second thought (epoxy). I guess probably putting an excess amount and then trimming / sanding down from there would be the way to go with that hunh?

Sort of, the epoxy is easier to work with then clay, you might even be able to get it exactly how you want it with no sanding. Smooth it out with your finger and a little bit of water. It you don't have latex gloves you might have to sand a little afterwards due to finger prints.

Clays? Epoxy? How about just heating it up with a hair dryer and posing the feet properly until it cools?

yeah, if you own a hairdryer give that a shot, that should work just fine. Even soaking a toy in hot water (not boiling!) will work.

But if you don't own one and plan on painting/customizing, get the epoxy instead of the dryer...

epoxy ?

No need for that ... heat ... is all you should need.

Your just gonna ruin it for no reason with epoxy.

ok, thx for the advice. I guess I'll heat it up first and try and get it shaped properly....if so then I might hold off on customizing it...the bent legs were an excuse to customize :D

Another epoxy option is magic sculpt or milliput. Should you decide to go that route...
