Post 2 things I find somewhat annoying about the WANT section
1. When someone reads your want list, then lists exactly what you want for sale instead of offering it to you directly (Isn't that what the want lists are for - to help people find what they are after?)

2. When someone lists that they are after specific stuff immediately after you post wants for the same things (especially when they have great stuff for trade and you do not).

It's early, I'm hungover and cranky, but I know it's happened to some of you guys as well so I'll be the spokesman.
Bitching status: Done.
Backlash for bitching status: Ready.

And then you realize that there are 5 unregistered guests on the board that have just read your want list, and now know what everyone is looking for.

So the wants section has become the flipper check list.

Yup. After a few people on this board posted their need for Bemons, they started showing up on ebay for $200-300 Buy it Now...

It's a tough one, becuase it's great to have a place to let people know what you're after but then it winds up being exploited. Such are the dilemmas in the life of the collector...

... or you could possibly cut your search time down. I got one item right after i posted mine and might save some money in my piggybank for another. one i've never seen for sale and the other i hadn't seen for sale in awhile (a few months). maybe i should take my list down now :)

Seriously though, you totally hi-jacked my thread and offered your items for the stuff I was looking for right in MY thread, remember? I merely returned the favor...

Here's a third:

3. When everyone keeps starting new threads for their wants when it's been asked for all to restrict their wants to ONE thread each. Posting another thread a couple days later looking for the same stuff you were on the previous thread is shit.

to me the 3 new categories seem to be
little to much emphasize on buying trading, etc.
also issues seem to be bigger now.
"buy sale trade" worked well for me before.

I can't deal with the whining and begging (the want section).

Either trade something up for what you are looking for, scour the internet for it, or just wait it out. The whole I NEED IT NOW (wah wah) is a turnoff.

just be careful with what you post. it is like a poker game, don't show all your cards.

IMO One of the points about the Wants section is for people to have a direct connection to someone who wants a toy, and search that thread rather than go straight to BST with it. Therefore reducing BST noise -which I think it has done (It woudl also eliminate the pain induced in some people who apparently hate reading thru wants lists).

I find it annoying too that people are posting multiple times on this thread - its supposed to be once only. I guess this is a result of potential suitors not using the search function. I've been tempted to bump my thread as well, but have managed to hold off - what I am doing though is keeping it up to date.

As for people being targetted by flippers, the easy way to stop that is to not pay ridiculous prices.

PS. And as people are having a good old complain, here's my pet peeve: listing cool stuff for trade with the main intention of market research, rather than a trade i.e. guaging just how available a "rare" piece is.
