Roger- did you pick up Shadow Chronicles? I had no idea that it was out already until I saw the toy announcement.

Yep, I have the DVD. I saw the movie back in September, and I stand by my initial review:

http://toyboxst.inwards.com/phorum/read ... msg-154368

I think if I watched this alongside the original Robotech today or 20 years ago, I'd put them on an even footing, warts and all.

There's only one additional fanboy gripe I have: the robots don't get to do robot stuff. No punching or kicking, walking or prying open things. They fly around and transform for no apparent reason. I'd like to see a sequel with a more generous production schedule and see them pump up this aspect of it.

The continuity and character nitpicks, eh, I can live with it.

Oh, yeah, Toynami is showing off their Beta prototype at Toy Fair again:

Would be nice if it was released one day.

No, no, they need to bring out another, smaller MP Voltron. :P

I would consider getting the MP Alpha if the Beta were released- still hesitant after hearing about some QC problems in the initial wave of Alphas. If it could do the docked Battroid mode, that would be killer.

Sweet geezus!

I've always wanted a transformable Cyclone, but didn't want to blow the $200 on a vintage Gakken.

Roger, any idea on size or release date?

can hardly wait!

maybe S7 will get these as well, so my apologies in advance, but got this note from BigBadToyStore today referring to the 3 Cyclones:

Hi - we will definitely sell all 3 of these items, just waiting for Toynami to get us the release date info and pricing and we'll get a preorder listed

Thanks!

I talked to my friends who met with Toynami yesterday. That Beta isn't scheduled for anything, all depends on interest from the fair, but it would be about $150. Even after my disappointment with the MPC Alphas, I still want a Beta. My hope is that the design is simpler than the Alpha and they're less likely to have problems manufacturing it.

MP Cyclones up for preorder on Bigbadtoystore.com

What is the "Rand" type, I wonder. Is it just the normal Cyclone with a different face?

Rand's Cyclone had different forearm weapons than Scott's. Otherwise, that's it.

Lancer's armor has the best name ever.

I don't recall much of a distinction in the Robotech version, though- I hope the sword is included.

Also, where's Bartley type?

Yeah, his bike does have a funny name, but it does have a historical basis:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brough_Superior

There are conflicting reports over which female bike set will be in the second wave, Rook Bartley (red) or Sue Graham (black).

I realize I didn't post this here yet, but I'm sure you know about it:

http://wildcats.pupui.jp/mt/archives/2007/02/cms.html

CM's Corporation is making it, summer release, no price yet. I'm excited.

Yaco reports that the Aoshima Legioss toys have been delayed. Originally they were coming out in July, now they are coming out in September:

Yaco is reporting that the Legioss has been delayed yet again (How many times is this? I've lost count.) until Late October or early November.

How's about them Ride Armors that were shown at Plamo Rajicon? I'm considering passing on the Toynami versions entirely, given the Megahouse prototypes.
