... is Valentines Day !

Don't get me wrong. I'm no Adonis.
Used to send MYSELF Valentine cards back in Dear Old.
But here in Japan it's a different story ...

A few dozen years ago someone at a Japanese chocolate company
thought it would be a good idea to import the concept of Valentines Day to Japan,
only with a subtle twist.

Now, on Feb 14th every year, Japanese women are REQUIRED BY LAW
to give chocolate to all the men in their lives.
Love has nothing to do with it.
It's called 'girichoco', or 'obligation chocolate'.
And it's wonderful!
Japanese chocolate is NOT HALF BAD, let me tell you!

Here's a taste (oh sorry, you can't, can you!) of my haul this year:

What do the guys hafta do for the girls?

Required by law? I want to know how it's enforced - I'm imagining a special agent force in pink and red uniforms.

SSSSHHHHHHH I told my wife that it's required by law here too! Only in my version it's everyday. She didn't seem to buy it, but if we ever move to Japan I will get the NARCS on her ass so hot if I don't get my damned candy!
