I know he will order magazines from Japan for you- e.g., Dengeki Hobby, Hobby Japan, etc. He's done a magazine-exclusive toy order for me in the past, and is a good guy to work with. Just shoot an e-mail to their address and ask.

But otherwise, I would recommend local Japanese bookstores, as well, if you have any in your area.

I tried all places major and small, comic shops and even video game stores .... nothing.

Online is my only chance.

Forgot about Hobbylink Japan (http://www.hlj.com), but their magazines sell out fairly quickly.

They have an online order system and take credit card as well, if you don't Paypal.

I don't know if you're going to find it for much cheaper than that unfortunately. The places that carry it around here charge about $10 an issue.

Is there a Kinokuniya bookstore nearby? They carry it. Aside from being a chain, they also have an online store and you would be buying and shipping in the USA, so probably cheaper. (I have never ordered anything online b/c there is a store in Seattle.)

Hank, does the Kinokuniyo store in the mall carry Hyper Hobby? Everytime I go there, they seem only to have Dengeki Hobby and Hobby Japan.

I used to work at Kinokuniya SF. They should still offer mail order subscriptions.

Talk with your local comic book store. Diamond distributes Hyper Hobby.

Or at least did the last time I checked :D

True. Hopefully you have better luck though, as our stupid store "can't read japanese" and kept ordering the same issue, or would skip months etc. :( GRRRRRRR

That's especially funny (as in peculiar, not "haha") since the month is written IN ENGLISH on each cover. Kinokuniya is hit or miss. I've gotten the last few issues, but they don't order many. Plus, it sounds like I'm dukin' it out with a few other board members for it every month!

Only one left.... I will see what they say tomorrow or saturday.

a comic store would probably order have to order it from diamond.. in that case they'd have to order it a few months ahead of time & they're probably afraid they'll get stuck with it

this is most likely the case. based on the price most are hesitant to order unless the have advance deposits, which I used to do, but then half the time the issues would never arrive because Diamond would cancel shipments if not enough were ordered, etc.
