Striping is tough! I've got some brushes, but they aren't the same as automotive brushes. I'd like to get my hands on some of those! I would love to get an automotive painting apprenticeship - specifically bikes!

thanks for the advice! where could i get One-shot? i don't know how steady my hand is, i have seen a few guys work, and it seems like a talent beyond my scope. but who would it hurt to try, my ed big daddy roth books will be getting a work out :)
ps: give those bad ass pin striper ladies you know a kiss for me.[/quote]

Jess,One-Shot should be available wherever you are.Its enamel for cars,so Auto paint suppliers, online there a many sources . Its easy to get vs. the V-color pain in the ass to get situation.

Acrylic thinned with water(duh) is cheap and good for practice and you can clean with water

But get a real brush Mack Swords are Killer only 12-15 $....the Big Daddys Roths are good too.

The Sabio pencil is great for laying out designs

Acrylic/ V-color/ Airbrush paints in general are better for Vinyl (I imagine Cronic uses V-color) and One shot for on top of auto paint, over Enamel, chrome, metal ect.

Im not sure if the Japanese toy vinyl is enamel receptive?

A couple shots of your favorite Hooch or ......smoke (been listening to Cab Callaway!) & good pinky balance and breathing technique are key to start.

Go to a RatRod show : Rumblers NYC & National,PunkRods KC,Shifters SoCal Roadrats NY,Road Agents,Coffin Draggers,Thrill Kills,DC Demons ect...not a trailer queen show and usually there will be Stripers working you can learn a lot about technique just by watching for a few minutes. The stripers at these shows are usually cool and willing to talk,Ive met some real snobs at the few Custom/Trailer Queen shows I have been to.

Whiskey will let me give her a Kiss but DevilDoll would clock me.... !!! LOL!!!

Best of Luck Jess ,E
