I'm a newbie to collecting. But can't see myself being out in a couple of years either.

This is just my personal take on it, there are people on KR that post almost exclusively to rub it in others faces.

If you have a huge collection and you want to show it off cool, I'm sure we'd all like to see it. Frankly it's probably the only chance I'll get to see some of the really cool stuff.

But if you come on here and post your stuff with a tag that reads "read it and weep mother fuckers" I'm going to call you with a big old, flat out "fuck you". Why be an asshole about it?

You got something you really wanted and you want to celebrate? By all means share it with us. I love seeing people’s hauls...GabbaGabba's latest haul makes me drool.

One of the great things about toys is that money isn't always the biggest factor in getting what you want. There's a lot of luck, dedication and or timing involved.


Personally I've been collecting for years starting with Michael Lau's Crazy Children and as long as I have the spare cash I'll keep buying new stuff.

Annonimity is one of the biggest problems with the internet. There is just no repercusion for acting like a little pee on bully. And I guarantee all the "haters" over there still live with their Mommies!!!!!
Someone like Knewnan adds a lot by posting pictures of his latest conquests and then the has to deal with total ridiculousness. Threads dedicated to bashing him for having "deep pockets".
Well if you are so jealous of him and other collectors, get a job and stop living off your mommies allowance!!!!!

I'm still not sure if all the threats are jokes or not. And I'm still not sure if I will be able to get to San Diego this year, but if I can get those days off I will definitely be there. And Knewnan, if anybody trys to pull anything I will be among the many from this board that will be there for you!!!

this thread is a prime example of how arguments about lynguistics are way better than ebay discussions. And you'll notice that at this forum there is nobody threatening to stop spending their billions of dollars a month at super7. Also, here violence is mandatory. Yes. Funny. That is the FUNNIEST - DUMBEST - SMEARFUL sort of post now isn't it...???!!! This threat is often leveled at me in fact. I'm sure 1/2 the time they think I deserve it which is only 1/4 of the time correct.

I also think that quite often if one posts a big collection and even if it's not said (a fuck you jealous collectorssorta comment) that other collectors think you're an asshole for it anyway. Sort of like they're in tune with everybody else's motives - Which is very, very strange to me. I haven't figured myself out personally - let alone others.

Incidentally - Do you think people will understand the humor (poked at YOU and ME and THEM) with the new line of "Toy Collectors Are Pretentious Assholes" shirts? Of course in loving memory of the one...the only...the big feller - Mr. Pig Champion.

Is it okay to stir the pot? Is it funny to see people take themselves so seriously that they might get angry over such a thing? If they do is that maybe some of the most fun?
