SuperRad Toys x Mr. Cartoon x Estevan Oriol "Lost Angel"

and

Muttpop x Kozik Tequila - "El Brujo Narco Satanico"

also a whole bunch of Mars-1's "Invisible Plan" mini figures.

Although I mostly hate Du.nnys and won't be buying any more, I liked the Azteca series for its cultural richness and agree that the Beast Bros. Quetzalcoatl was very cool. Perhaps in part because it doesn't look like a Du.nny.

Long story short, re-animated love of kaiju has almost completely killed my interest in Western art toys. I'll pay attention to what SuperRad, Muttpop, Kozik, and Mars-1 are doing, but that's about it unless something exceptionally interesting comes along.

Thats true for most of the toys collected around here, but I dont think its really an East/West thing. What Touma and Itokin Park are doing is a lot closer to what someone like Biskup or Ledbetter is doing than what Secret Base and Gargamel are doing. Then there are western companies like UNKL or Muttpop that seem more similar to Japanese brands than artist-based toys (not in style of course, but they're marked as brands more than as artists). I guess I see it as a distinction between brands vs artists more than east vs west.

I forgot to mention that Bwana Spoons is always interesting to watch too, but y'all knew that. :-) "Purple Nights" Steven the Bat is one of my favorite Western toys. I recently posted to the KR board that it amazed me that it hasn't sold out yet. It has so much more character than some of the vinyl that the KR folks go nuts for. I just don't understand why Steven isn't as popular as, say, JLed's Teeters. Maybe 'cause many of the people hoarding JLed figures intend to resell them for profit? I dunno. The fad factor is mercurial.

Can't wait for Alber the Gator too. Those handpainted Albert at dragons of the west are sick. Side Note: If you got Pencil Fight 3, I got a page in it! Score :)

Just got the Plassebo from Bob Conge. I love Egyptian stuff, plus I'm a freak-o-phile and a horror buff. This toy hits all of those point for sure. The production values are very good and the wash finish really sets it off.

Oh, and liquidsky - YB&A is the CP guy, just so you know.

1.In my humble opinion ..I think that the mister cartoon figure is the dumbest thing out there. I literally feel embarassed everytime I see it.

2. Although I really dont let the area of the world dictate what I buy.. Like most people on here I tend to always lean towards JP. more often without even knowing if is or not. I think this is for a variety of reasons and everybodys are different. I think alot peoples stem back to childhood..

3. take skullpirates/kawsxpushead comp/frankenghosts Jp or western? would anyone really consider these western?... I really think pushead and s7 blur the lines in this category more then anyone..
I think westernvsJP argument comes down to a style more than a region, I think people use the region terms for lack of better/defined words.

4.YB&A is a fine upstanding gentleman.
