Total Medi-crouch, I was, and still am, an avid Medicom VCD fan, so crouchings cool. Overall, these are ok.us The only ones to knock me out though are the orange pumpkin and pink zombi, the rest are just ok.

I know I'm late to the party, but I had to say that I think you guys are all high!
These toys are awesome, and when you see how they are up close, even better. The orange swirl and purple "jelly" screaming pumpkin guys look especially amazing up close and out of the bags. These are actually my new favorite toys, I even took a pic a couple of weeks ago I was going to post in the "Show your collection" section -
That's the top shelf "place of honor" too. I love staring at those.
Some say they are derivative? So what? For the most part, all the toys we are collecting are derivative of things we enjoy, either now or from our childhoods - older kaiju toys, other toys, punk and skate iconography, etc - all of it is "influenced" (sometimes heavily) by something else.
Isn't there a forum on this board dedicated to the toys from a band that has made a cottage industry by "paying tribute" to The Misfits? And I LOVE Gargamel, but aren't a large portion of their toys based on older bootleg kaiju?
Some may say that the screaming pumpkin is a rip of SB? You mean the company that started making toys influenced by old henshin outfits and that seem to really, really like Madballs? That SB? And that's not a knock on them BTW, that's why I love them so much!
The only super original stuff I can think of off the top of my head that gets discussed around here is Dehara, and it's possible that he's referencing stuff I don't know about.
And I don't get the "it looks American" thing. How, and if so, why is that bad? Now Kaiju for Grownups, that stuff looks American, mostly because it is.
I mean hate 'em if you want, but to hate because they are derivative strikes me as odd from this group. And if anyone doesn't want their orange swirl screaming pumpkins after a few months - please let me know, I'll give them a good home!
But to be fair, this is all coming from a guy who also has a Deathquid and Doromeda shelf, so I may just be crazy.
And Carl, you are Captain insaneo-pants.

wow, Rick delivers the word on Vinyl Junkies!
I too love the swirling orange pumpkin and the jelly belly pumpkin. just beautiful to hold up close!
pink skull zombie has this incredible pearlescent finish that can't really be appreciated from a picture. The blue painted one looks pretty cool, but I was expecting it to look cooler in person.
and i can hardly wait for the clear and pink skull zombie to get here!
those other muddy yellow ones you have blow and should be discarded immediately...

and i can hardly wait for the clear and pink skull zombie to get here! +1 on everything. I thought the blue would look cooler in person too, but it's still awesome. What I didn't realize, even when I had it but it was still in the bag, was how clear the purple on the jelly one was. When I took it out of the bag I was floored by how cool it looked. toybotstudios wrote: those other muddy yellow ones you have blow and should be discarded immediately...
Well, they can't all be winners
I will say that I like those colors the least, but I still like the sculpt, so it's OK. Plus I'm a total nerd, so if I didn't have the ugly yellow ones, I'd feel a void that could only be filled by buying more overly expensive toys.

I don't own any, but I've been tempted to purchase one just to see it in person. I think the sculpt is pretty cool. If the purple one is also clear vinyl that would probably be my favorite one out of the bunch. The orange swirl is a close 2nd.

The colors are fine, cool even, like Cronic, I'm still not into the sculpts for some reason and I'm not entirely sure why, I think it is mostly because of the heads though.
And I think it is one thing to take influence from toys of the past, but to be derivitave of contemporary toys in the same genre
Not to knock your collection though, as long as you like them it's all good.

For the record, I like the Muddy version. I think the solid vinyl with brownish wash shows off the sculpt really well- it's a little lost on the nukular orange one, despite the groovy colors.
It also reminds me of a month-old rotting pumpkin- which, as a zombie pumpkin, it should!

The funny part is that if these had been an official collaboration between Rumble Monsters and Vinyl Junkies, people would have been all over them like flies on poo.

I'm being totally serious when I say this, but I didn't even put those two together until you had the pics of them together like that. Pretty funny. Despite that, I still think they're awesome. Pogue wrote: probably not. Anyone buy that stupid car yet?
