I don't have a problem with the creation of a Fan Club. Of course, I wish I would have gotten in, but that's not my complaint. My complaint is that there will be no more subscriber exclusives, and Super7 used the subscriber exclusives as a selling point for the subscription. Super7 could have continued offering subscriber exclusives, and the Fan Club could have operated as a separate entity, but Super7 instead chose to end subscriber exclusives. The subscriber exclusives and the Fan Club did not have to be mutually exclusive.
In effect, the Fan Club is currently acting as a S7 subscriber exclusive that determines who will receive all future subscriber exclusives, which are now known as Fan Club exclusives. As a S7 subscriber who missed out on the Fan Club, why wouldn't I be disappointed with that?

It helps explain the staff's thinking about this a lot. It must be hard to evaluate where that fine line between "exclusive limited" and "fairly common" exists. It was good of you to offer the explanation.
OK, el xoco the semi-newb is gonna add fuel to the fire here LOL ... hopefully not:
GB, I've read and considered your points thoughtfully. Having done so, I think the only realistic resolution, unhappy though it may be, is to cut your losses and try to get into the FC when new slots are made available. It's a drag that you missed out on ramos' e-mail but as you've seen, others did also ... perils of spam traps. The fact that you disagree with the switch from subscriber exclusives to FC exclusives ... not much that can be done about that except stating your disagreement as you've done.
As a point for consideration, when most people subscribed to the magazine, they also didn't know that it was going to become a more book-like periodical with less frequent publication.
Given that S7's profile has risen considerably in the past year and that the collector scene has also grown combined with the fact that the S7 staff is relatively small (and that there are things they must do to maintain S7 as a viable, profitable business) I think a case can be made for their need to do some periodic restructuring. On a less formal level, given all they've done to educate and make acquisitions possible, it might be cool to just cut 'em some slack when they do things that aren't to our personal preference. That's my sincere estimation, not toadie kissing-up. You have every right to your disagreement as you have stated, but I don't believe repeating it and arguing with board members is going to change anything at this point ... it's just becoming a "popcorn" thread.
Well, best of luck to all of us who would like to join when the new slots open up.

If a guy was standing on a steet corner holding a sign saying "Free Gold!", GB would complain if the guy asked for $.05 to cover the cost of the bag holding the gold.

I've spoken to several people in the real world about Super7's decision, and they all agreed that I have a valid point. My point is not a really important one, but that doesn't make it any less valid. But many people here refuse to recognize that. I don't know why I even waste my time.

You're welcome (unless you think I contradicted myself because I didn't)...
valid - sound; just; well-founded
important - of much or great significance or consequence
