If I was going on this trip, one of the last things i'd be thinking about is buying Japanese toys.

I don't know much about toy stores in the EU but I believe ArtToyz is in Paris, as is Collette.

those are the only places that i can think of off-hand from your list of places...

in amsterdam & barcelona you will find similar art/skate/comic stores...definitely roam the back streets of the rambla in barcelona for great graffiti viewing..

as for the other places,,,good luck...DEFINITELY nothing of the sort in venice,,i can assure you that..

how long are you going for??? i hope atleast a month with that many stops!!...

hey!
thanks everyone! i will be there for 6 weeks and unfortunatly no we probably wont be making it to berlin. i know alot of the placs we will be going are very tourist based and dont expect them to have anything of this nature, but i sure there shuld be atleast one stop in paris that i could find a cool shop or 2!
i am also a HUGE fan of Space Invader and i can't wait to hunt down his stuff in paris!!

Yeah, despite their extraordinary beauty, Venice and Florence are "museum cities," whereas while the same could be said of Rome, Rome is alive ... very dynamic and cosmopolitan. It's been some years since my last visit but I do remember seeing a hardcore Industrial music shop there, so ... maybe by now there are some cool toy stores as well. As I recall, a lot of the cool toys I saw last time I was in Europe were in boutiques or gift shops that weren't toy stores per se. For example in the old part of Munich near the Neuratshaus there are touristy shops that have some cool traditional German wooden dolls and marionettes.

Please report back when you return! I'll be in Paris around Labor Day and am totally psyched!
