thanks guys!

Them was probably my favorite thing that I saw at the festival. It honestly really scared me, and that never happens. I was very surprised. maybe I was just having an off night, but regardless, it was lots of fun.

Wicked Flowers is one of those movies that's a "horror" movie, but not really a horror movie. I could definitely see a more adventurous non-horror audience enjoying it, especially if you're attracted toward weird stuff. it's fun to try to figure out what's going on before it's revealed.

Skylar thank you!

I finally watched Them (aka Ils), I've been wanting to see it since reading your review and I loved it, it was totally scary!

I was supposed to go to the Snagov area when I was in Romania, there is a little monastary there on an island, which supposedly the body of Vlad the impaler was buried out front of, unfortunatly I didn't have time to go though, it was a couple hours away :(

That area is really close to Bucharest which I think is where the woman teaches school, and there are SPOILER******

lots of poor, glue huffing orphan children there that live underground, so I could totally believe that part of the movie

Not sure if it is actually based on a true story like it said at the end though?

yeah, who knows. horror movies all the time say "based on a true story" and it's just to up the scare factor or it's based on the slightest sliver of a true story it's ridiculous.

but yeah, I did think it was great. very simple, but still totally effective. I wish more directors took cues from films like that.

meanwhile, I watched the Black Xmas remake last night (didn't expect it to be good, but I have to stay up on my game and watch the good and the bad) and it was just horrendous, of course. so ridiculous and over the top for no reason, so many dumb plot points and bad dialogue.

it was kinda fun in a laugh and make fun of it kinda way but...

it'll be the new Pieces in 20 years though. like I thought it was comedic now, but like time take it's toll and one day it'll be a "lost" trash classic
