I watched that auction the whole time. At one point i thought i was going to bid, and then it went over $500. I'm so new i'd never seen one for sale to know what one should sell for. That's the main reason i didn't bid. I wish there was some kind of price guide on these things. Even a vague idea of what one would sell for would have helped. I don't think i would have gone that high anyway, but still good to know.

I was actually surprised the Silver spray GID Skullwing only went for what it did. It's been a while since one has been available. I was thinking that one would go for over $400.00.

I think the gid gf was selling for around $300-350 until now. I guess the market is suggesting the GF is the most in demand SB sculpt (right now), so I would like to give Mr. Flynn a big internet high five!
BTW - I don't think the run number of 55 is certain but maybe Brian can clear that up for us.

Wow! Is that the hardest one to find? I have one of those I bought in a set with a rainy day and two others.

you can't judge a toys value by one auction, sometimes people pay way to much for something weather they bee retards or rich dudes, or both. remember when kid paid like 500 bucks for a factory paint bemon he already owned? haha that shit was priceless. then he tried to pass his great deal along to a fellow rfsoer, so funny.[/list]

I was thinking that it was closer to 30 also...
Not that I could afford it, but a "grail" type toy of such limited production is probably worth $300-500 to the right collector (obviously, judging by the sale). I know I would rather have the GID GF than a Kaws Companion or other similarly priced and more massively produced toy...
It surprises me that these guys turn up at all...if I had one, I would only trade it for my (eventual) replacement liver/kidneys or a plateful of cheeseburgers, depending on which I needed most at the time...
efp3, you are one (of 33?) fortunate bastard!

No joke, I paid $25 for that piece. I bought four of them from the guy and each one was $25 bucks. He was not in it for the cash they were gifts and he was going in a different direction. I am really stoked to know what a cool piece of vinyl history I own! Too bad my dog ate it! Just kidding!

No not 4 GIDs! That would be crazy out of hand! I would have spread the love! It was the GID and the first three GFs after that. One went to a friend as a gift and I still have the other two plus the GID.

Officially, the glow GF was never "released". There are only 33 of them, and they were made by Hiddy to just give away from extra vinyl left over from another run. About 8 total made it over to the states, most were given away in Japan. Many of those have slowly leaked back from overseas sellers. The last GID I heard of was traded on this board through PMs for $600. Before that, it was a long time since I had heard of one selling and it was in the $300 range.
Just as another question, have you noticed that a couple other colorways have slowly disappeared? SDCC05 Clear with black and silver hardly ever pops up any more, and neither does the rainy day clear blue. The clear grey with red appears the most often of the older versions, but there are actually less of them than either of the above two. Bizarre. What is the board's impression of "rarity vs. hard to get" on the releases, as I obviously judge them by different standards.
Here is the release list:
0. Flesh vinyl test shots of the head mold, only 3-5 made
1. grey translucent vinyl with orange, Super7 subscriber version (June 2005)
2. grey translucent vinyl with red, Super7 issue exclusive version (June 2005)
3. clear vinyl with black and silver, Super7 SDCC exclusive (July 2005)
4. unpainted glow in the dark vinyl, free give-away item in Japan, limited amounts made, a few partial test shots exist as well
5. unpainted translucent blue version, Rainy Day (September 2005)
6. black vinyl with orange, Super7 x SB halloween set (October 2005)
7. unpainted black vinyl, ticket redemption (October 2005)
8. translucent pink vinyl with red, black, v-day(February 2006)
9. translucent pink vinyl with black, red, Super7 sub exclusive(February 2006)
10. white vinyl with black and red, Super7 White Day (March 2006)
11. white vinyl with green and pink, Super7 sub exclusive(March 2006)
12. translucent orange vinyl, Haunted version (June 10, 2006)
13. translucent yellow vinyl, Evil version (May 2006)
14. Clear with red and black, spirit version SDCC 2006
15. Clear with green and yellow, spirit version SDCC 2006
16. Clear with green and yellow, green inserts, spirit version SDCC 2006

I have the clear blue RD. My clear with black and silver has the hands with the bones printed on it. Is that the one you are talking about?
