this will kill you, but a store in calgary was selling those vinyl walders for $4.95 each. I bought two dukuro kings and two green invader. I gave one the dokuro's to a touring band that stayed at my place and am keeping the rest....
My only regret is passing on the cyborg arm accessory packs priced at $1.95!!!

I didn't mean cheap in a bad way, I just meant it in the money sense because I picked up all those for under 20 bucks each too. I think they are actually really cool.

That Mutant Evil Waldar is extremely sexy indeed. Totally muton sexy.
Is that a regular release clear purple ME, or has it been dyed?

I'm guessing - maybe tint would be a better word, or painted with clear acrylics - I have no real idea, but, I'm sure I've seen customs where clear was modified. Any cutomizers out ther know the answer to this?

I would say (but I not for sure) that this was actually made by RxH and they just used one of the clear Purple Mutant evils or it was made by someone that knows the RxH guy good enough to buy one of the clear Purple Evils that hadn't been painted on yet!!!!!!!! I think Frank Kozik said that you could dye vinyl but don't quote me on that either!!!!!!

You can tint vinyl. Look at the different Ghostfighters as an example:
SDCC version is clear
Sudscriber & Regluer version has a gray tint to it
Valentines has a Red tint
So endeth the lesson

Can we amateurs tint vinyl? We all see the various colored clear vinyls from Japan, but is there a way "the kids" can do it at home themselves? If so, I'd buy up all the Blobpus Inncoent and start tinting 'em.
Anyone know?

By the way, those pics are SUPER RAD - your photos of these fests are one of the things keeping this scene growing, along with S7, Skullbrain, SB etc.....
I'm planning a trip to Tokyo for June - anything happening over there then? Maybe we could meet up?

The tint is added in the liquid stage, like pigment in paint, so no - once it is in solid form you can not change that aspect of it. You can paint vinyl but it will not stay clear. I would imagine you could make it opaque by thinnning down the paint and applying a light coat to the inside. You can stain the vinyl with like a sharpy - it soaks into the surface but you can not control where it will spread to.

Interesting - thanks. I occasionally see weird tinted version of stuff on YJ, like that pink neo-henshin - know anything about that?

I stand corrected if that works. Never tried it. Of course I am not about to color my hands or clothes semi perminently to find out.........I guess I could wear rubber gloves and do it in the nude....... EWWWWWW - not a pretty sight.

I think you certainly could dye the vinyl (I've been wanting to try on some "scraps" first) but I think Paul actually sprayed his BLObPUS with some of that Irisawa paint + the super fine metal flakes.

I took this from the RIT website!!!!!
Quote: Can I use Rit to dye materials other than fabrics? Rit dyes can also be used to color wood, paper, plastics, canvas shoes, and many craft materials.
