 The Gruaniad, Flipping and Skullbrain.
http://technology.guardian.co.uk/news/s ... 63,00.html
Now every Guardian reader knows they can make a bob or two out of us!
"Collectable Japanese vinyl designer figures have also attracted the attention of the flipping community, to the extent that true collectors almost have to rely on the flippers in order to get their latest toy fix. Dedicated online toy forums such as Skullbrain constantly discuss the scourge of the flippers, with whom they have a love-hate relationship. Graffiti artist Kaws is best known for his Dissected Companion figures. These 16-inch characters are produced in limited numbers and are available only from the artist's über-hip Tokyo store, Original Fake, and from his website, Kawsone. Demand was so great the last time Kaws released a figure that it crashed his website and destroyed the server. The Dissected Companion figures normally retail for £90 but a friend recently sold his for £465 on eBay."

There doesn't seem to be much money to be made for amateur flippers around here anyway. Its not like they're going to get their hands on a bunch of Bemons. If anything a few people will show up and try to sell some Godzillas they got at toys 'r us and we can all have a good laugh at their expense.

Anyone can flip, but a point to consider is that the "professional" flippers need access to Japan or a hook-up there to be in cahoots with. Hopefully, that limits the extent to which flippers can hoard at release time.
I may be wrong, but as far as the notorious HK-based eBay kaiju flippers go ... there aren't very many of them, and they clearly already know about the 'brain. At least one is an active member here despite his alleged denials of being who he is known to be. I suspect at least two others are lurking members. My point is not to name their names, but rather that I'm not sure that this article will change things much for the worse. I sure hope not. It's bad enough already.
The upside is that we can keep helping each other like we already are by selling no-longer-wanted here at "RFSO prices." There are clearly enough of us here with good community ethics to keep that going.

Reminds me how much I love my S7xHardcore shirt... and due to my dry humor a few 'kids' think Super 7 opened for Gorilla Biscuits reunion...
hold your ground...
