Post Updated Geek Room pics 5/20

New here and wanted to share some favorite glow vinyls!

Update 5/20/09: It has been just over 2 years since I've been invited here and wanted to show the changes from then to now. I've sold over 5 shelves of vinyl since last Fall (still anticipating a move in the not-too-distant future) and am constantly rearranging items. Thanks to all for a great 2 years here at SB! New pics on page 2.

Holy FUCK -- That's quite a display there. Got a glowing picture to show as well? I would love to see that!

I'm such an idiot I can't turn off the flash on the camera! I'll post 1 when I get it figured out. I play my video games in this room and turn out the lights while playing, the glowies add a cool effect.

Nice - That's a lotta radiation!! You may never have kids (or at least ones with all their limbs).

Whats the nicely painted, brainy / blobby thing with little flea legs on the middle of the bottom shelf?

The glow brain thing is a Sofvi Life Balloonga (sp?), a kaiju from the Ultra Q TV series. They pop up from time to time on YJA under Marmit. I'll try to post more pics later. Thanks for the compliments!

Hot damn, very cool. I'm a sucker for gimmicks like glowing stuff any day, but something about giant glowing monsters gets me even more excited.

From left to right: 1. CCP glow Bakler white ant kaiju from Spectreman, 2. Yutari glow Gara Sharp kaiju from unproduced 70's Gamera movie, 3.Marmit glow Barugon from 2nd Gamera movie (it comes with a small standing Barugon, I believe a crawling glow Gamera was released at the same time as this), 4. B-Club glow Antlar from original Ultraman series, and 5. Marmit Globsters Alien Doromeda (not a glowie, I don't think a glow version of this sculpt was released). The glow Bakler is very difficult to find, it took me a few years to track down after I passed initially. The others still pop up on YJA from time to time. I'd say the Gara Sharp is the next most difficult even though it was just released last year. Thanks for the inquiries. I think I'm doing things backwards here. I've posted this thread and offered an extra vinyl for sale but haven't introduced myself yet. My apologies, I'll post something later today.

Geez. That's all I gotta say.

Even more impressive than the first time.

Who is that white four-armed cyclops guy on the top shelf, far left?

Jebcrow, I owe my noobeginnings on this board to you, thanks a bundle. The white four-armed ant at the top left is a Marmit Bakler from Spectreman. Thanks for the compliments. I share these with all of you because my drinking buddies that get to see these in person just don't get it...

I really enjoy them, it has taken about 12 years to accumulate everything. The connecting corner is all Bandai Ultra kaiju and Godzilla stuff (I'll post later). I have a few shelves for Transformers, GI Joe, And Star Wars (all childhood favs) plus all the books, comics, and mags. There is always room for misc. goodies. This is my little kingdom where I can get away from the wife and kids, listen to some metal, and play survival horror. Also a place where I can stash a good case of beer and some munchies!

First off, your boyfriend must appreciate that he has someone who adores such an eccentric hobby! Secondly, dusting is done very carefully and not very frequently! I keep the room closed off and due to my son's allergies, we have various filters for our heating/cooling system that prevents a lot of debris from floating around.
