 Skull pirate?
The January 2006 issue of Juxtapoz magazine was a special Japanese art issue. Within is an article on Secret Base, and it mentions that their new creation was to be the Skull Pirate, scheduled to be released at the end of 2005.
Did the Skull Pirate ever come to pass? Or was the King Skull Brain issued instead? Can anyone please lead me to some info and a pic of this, if one exists?
And while we're on the question kick, have there been any other Skull Barabarians (the space alien) like the "Killers from Space" white one from Super 7?

Hi Nostromo,

Thanks so much to both of you for the info! I'm sort of new -- this is the third Super 7 forum I've been a part of. But I'm still a little new to the Secret Base stuff. I only have a few pieces right now, but I'm slowly collecting a small army. ^_^
I'll have to start hunting about for those space brains, especially the green and black one.
Now I see you have popped over here, VGA. Thanks! Very interesting that Pushead is involved... where did that info come from? Not doubting you, just curious. The only source I have is the magazine, and on page 28 of it it says:
----------------------------
"And the Secret Base fighter family is always growing. Look for its newest addition, the Skull Pirate, at the end of 2005."
---------------------------------
Do you happen to have a special source? No need to reveal it, just wondering if an insider bit of data was smuggled out by Bothans about the Skull Pirate mold or something.
Oh, and I dig the name, VGA -- glow-in-the-dark stuff is simply the ginchiest.
Can someone correct me if I'm wrong, but was a Skull Pirate mentioned on that Character Convention flyer that talked about the King Skull Brain?

Aloha, VGA!
Thanks for the welcome -- I hope I can keep up with all of you super toy sages.
The Cococrocs are most definitely reeking of the awesomeness. I am trying to get my hands on Pushead stuff, but it is apparently VERY popular. Hopefully, I can acquire that new Horror Skullwing to add to my SB forces. The Cococroc design is delicious, and this new S7 issue looks to fill some hunger for more Pus-related stuff -- the cover is hyper cool.
I'm really looking for any pieces that Pushead may have done related to one of my favourite old school anime heroes -- Devilman. I know there is some artwork, but I think there are some figures... Anyone know for sure?
As for the Skull Pirate, I am certainly excited about this more now that it is confirmed that Pushead has a hand in it. I know it's speculation, but what does everyone think it will look like? Will it be like the Skullwing, only with a pirate hat and patch? Or will he go all-out for a ripping new design?
Pushead and pirates, two of my favourite things... together at last. ^_^
I wonder if he might come with a sword... or a peg leg... or an undead parrot! hee hee... ^_^

Pus did a handful of wind-ups with Fewture.
These are called Mecha Terror- there is Devilman, Dororon En Makun (the witch boy), Bird Catcher, and Santa Kawaiti. There are 2-3 colorways of each.

Thanks for the heads-up. I didn't know about Dororon!
For some reason I thought there were wind-ups. Cool idea -- time for research and hunting to begin.
And now I see that the orange and red Skull Barbarian has blue hands and feet. Keen!
Perhaps you could tell me, Chad, will Super 7 do an update to the SB visual checklist to include the new figures? And perhaps the other premiums, like the shirts and boxers? Not to mention custom packaging, like the "Pringles" can...
I'm sure a lot of us would like to see that in the future...

I hope that in person it looks more like it's hunched over and lurching as opposed to squatting. It looks really nice other than that concern though. I really want to see the shirt that comes with it.

You could even say the figure is sitting. Seems there is a black block he is sitting on it the pic. Maybe he will come with a treasure chest??

Good eyes there.
That would be very neat. Be great if it were hinged and you could put stuff in it.
