Hey, haven't been indulging in anything much vinyl related lately - trying to beat the addiction and avoid temptation to save money and frustration!

Actually, it makes me feel very guilty that my lack of self control makes me not participate on teh board, especially when the scene should be about so much more than mere aquisition! But we all know that with limited (grab it now)releases, hot new toys and colorways, that its a big part of it! But my jobsearch seems to have taken up more time than actually working of late!

So, soapbox off, and calling all London Skullbrainers. I'm gonna be in town on and off for two weeks. Staying with family and friends, and doing things on the super cheap. BUT, I want arrange a get together of all London Skullbrainers so we can meet up and talk crap.

So, what's a good day/evening to meet up?

Also noticed a ton of killer bands playing while I'm there: The Manics, BTS, Cold War kids, Grizzly Bear, Vatican DC, Yourcodenameis: Milo, My Vitriol, Blonde Redhead, Zoot WOman to name but a few.

Banky, Jeb, Donnie etc...... Let's do this!

Made a little tour around yesterday, and stopped myself from attempting to buy anything apart from food and travel tix...well, apart from a couple of Silversun Pickups picture disks and a great book on Metal album sleeves that was on sale at Sister Ray. Man, that brought so many memories back.

I'm heading off to Sheffiled, York and Scarborough on Thursday. Haven't been to Scarborough in 20 years, and I hear it has taken a turn for the worse.... we shall see.

so, hit me up, and lets do this. Softvinyl + beer = good times, even tho I am a complete lightweight when it comes to drinking these days......

Updates for anyone else slightly interested (or not ):

Took a walk around various stores, trying fairly successfully, not to buy anything. Picked some cheap seven inch singles, mainly pic discs - can't play 'em, but like to have them. Also found a couple of eary IWG figures at retail, like Affonso, long sold out everywhere else.

Have figured out fairly quickly that London is truly expensive, so losing weight by not eating until I get home each day - GREAT diet plan. Still jetlagged for some reason..mmm. Anyway, off to see LA's finest tonight - Silversun Pickups, playing seocnd on the bill at teh Waterats pub in Kings Cross.

Tomorrow I am going to attempt to drive here after last doing that 9 years ago...uh-oh. Evening drive to Sheffield, then York then Sacrborough.

Next week I'm hoiping to see teh aformentioned Manic Street Preachers, and a trip to Brighton to see my nephew and check out Isis at teh Concorde.

For various reasons Friday is now a problem for me - but THURSDAY would be awesome. Any chance we can meet up on Thursday now? Central London would be best for me - and I leave it up to you lot to tell me where and when to be there.

Sorry to be a pain - but let me know. If we can't do Thursday, then Friday could be worked out but would mean missing going to a family event that night. Boo hoo.
