Yeah, but record collecting is far more cut throat.
It was common knowledge among record collectors that the Punk/hXc collectors were the worst.
I regularly flip/flipped them, the only way to fund your addiction sometimes.
The people on this board are waaaaay more helpful & friendly and it isn't something I would consider as I approach the whole thing differently and the general helpful attitude on here makes it seem... wrong.
But thats only my point of view, I guess assholes are everywhere and there no avoiding them.
I will however, trade my flat round vinyl for your toy shaped vinyl

Much less in hardcore where community is always implied.. brianflynn wrote: I will take you spare HxC records......

I've kept quiet and read a lot on here because I was quite taken aback by how... civil? it is.
With the exception of the Flip Assaults, which I guess is well founded and sort of self policing in nature.

some late 80's hxc (expensive) but mostly 90's era stuff in the metalcore vein.

As this thread is now on the topic of records, anyone interested in 80's punk should check out my brother's online record store.
http://yesterdayandtodayrecords.com/
My bro created Limp Records for the DC Slickee Boys and The Razz and also produced many of the early Dischord bands, including Minor Threat / SOA (Henry Rollins) / Teen Idles, as well as The Slickee Boys, Velvet Monkeys, The Dark, Youth Brigade and Black Market Baby.

Hey, now that is cool - with your username and avatar, I wondered if you knew him.
Now everyone sing " It's a small world after all ... !!!"

108 has been playing out a lot recently. they'll be playing Sound & Fury fest in Ventura. unfortunately it is the same weekend as SDCC. Theyalso have a new record coming out soon as well.
I'm a bit skeptic of it though. They are trying hard to play down the krisna thing as much as possible. going as far as saying none of the old stuff was krsna related.
108 were an amazing band. i just hope they dont ruin everything that i remember.

108 did a reunion and is currently reunited and even recorded an album!
havent heard it yet though, saw them play a great show last year though. and even though they arent all practicing krishnas.. alot of dc devotees showed up and lost their minds... I think theyre planning a west coast tour. so start your chanting now....

Good to hear about the tour and info. I did pick up their cd discography a few months back when it came out and forgot how much I liked them. I live in Apt# 108 and everytime someone in the know comes by they ask "Are there Khrishna's inside" or the standed comment "Holyname!"
And Bryan, glad you got something a long the line of the topic planned for later this year!

I remember when Y&T played the Mabuhay Gardens and other SF punk locales frequently. I was very young at the time, but remember the attitude among some SF punkers being "those old guys?" I also remember the first time the Circle Jerks played SF ... opening for The Mentors at the Savoy Tivoli on Grant Street. The Savoy crowd seemed to think that The Mentors were sheer poetry (cough, cough) and that the Jerks were some horrific corruption of punk from L.A. A year later they were probably all big Circle Jerks fans. Both bands played again that night at a party at Hank Rank's (Crime drummer) industrial loft. Keith (Jerks singer) vomited during the performance, then spent the rest of the set mumbling lyrics while curled up on the stage floor. Ah, the good old days.
