Worst. Lottery. Ever........because it wasn't even a lottery!!!

And then they attempted to reward the "Fast" people by just giving them out to #'s 1 to 75.....but they failed to realize that they started handing them out in the 250's.

Next time stick with the lottery

So wait, how many were made? 250? Not that #'s mean anything to me, just confused?

80 available. 500 tickets. From what H is sayin' they distributed tickets starting with #250 . . . then backtracked to #1 later on in the distribution process.

Kinda sucky . . . but then I'm just a bitter old bastard for never standing a chance anyways! :D :D :D

There are 100 of the Helio Pollards made. They were giving 75 away in this lottery/contest. A maximum of 500 numbered tickets were to be handed out. For whatever reason, they started handing out the tickets beginning with numbers in the 250's. At the time nobody thought too much about it since it was suppose to be a random drawing. So for all the people who made it down there in the first two days, they received numbers in the 250 to 270 or so range. After handing out tickets 250 to around 280, they went to #1, which went out Sunday afternoon or so.

In the end, Helio just decided to give the Pollards "to those FAST MOVERS with tickets numbered 1 through 75"....which was a mistake since they didn't hand them out in numerical order. For the rest of the ticket holders (#250 to around #280), they randomly drew 5 numbers (they added 5 Pollards to the giveaway). After receiving some complaints (not from me!) they drew five more numbers (for a total giveaway of 85 Pollards).

Anyway, this drama could have been avoided by just sticking with the lottery system. I guess they just wanted to save some time and trouble and thought they were rewarding the people who went first.

It WAS a great idea and fun promotion that took a turn in the end....still love Biskup for even trying to do something like this for the fans :D

Actually they did start with #1, because I got there moments after the tickets were dropped off on Friday night, and I got a number 2!

They didn't START with #1 (meaning the first person who got to the store did not get #1)....I was there Friday morning when they opened and they didn't even have the tickets yet. They took down our names and said they would call us with our ticket numbers (which they did). You might have gotten #2 but then they switched shortly after that. I know people who went on Friday night, Saturday morning, and Saturday afternoon and still got numbers in the 250 to 260's range. And then I know people who went Sunday afternoon and got #'s in the 20's and people who went Monday afternoon and got tickets in the 60's. And then I know of a few people who got high numbers in between all this. Whatever method they used to hand out the tickets it was definitely not in numerical order.

Well you know alot more details than I do! And I'm learning alot from reading your posts!

I was just commenting that when I got to the Helio store, the person there told me they just got the tickets and then gave me ticket #2. So I assumed the person who got there before me got #1, and that they started from the beginning. But I don't know what happened before or after I was there.

But if there was no order to how the tickets were distributed, is that 'random'?

Didn't you and your friends get #1, 2, 4, and 5?

It would have been.....but then they changed their minds and decided to give it to the FIRST 75 people who got tickets....which is clearly NOT random.

Despite this having a downside (lottery organisation) and the obvious upside (free toys, loads of winners!) I have a feeling that this will work out for Henry. Did any other RFSO members get left out in the cold?

If u see me, please come over and say hello - there seems to be a whole bunch of LA toy folk who raed this board, but don't want to be tarred by teh LASK brush  I am planning on going along and might bring da Pugsters with me as they've been stuck at home all day, so look out for two pissed off pugs!

There's one on eBay already $200 BIN.

Seller claims it's the "most rare" and "best looking." Most rare it is not (that would have been the Virus Pollard limted to 25, followed by the Rainbow Army which were an edition of 60).

Hot & Colds would fall somewhere in there too, no? IIRC, there were originally 60 H&C pairs, Tim painted 30 pairs, so only 30 H&C unpaints remained (less those customized by loudwizard and perhaps others, now). And (also IIRC), while there were 60 of each individual Rainbow Army piece, only 30 actual set-of-4 Armies were sold, the rest went as singlets. While the H&C set, the Army and the Virus all fall in that 25-to-30 range, the Virus still seems to be the toughest 'get,' presumably because most were sold at the Thrashout event in Japan.

I'd agree though that the Helio is indeed one of the best paints, plus its glow is truly atomic - this is taken without UV, but it hardly conveys the brightness of it in the vinyl-flesh.
