i'm not expert, but I've been going on the assumption that these companies who make the stuff we like are really small and can't afford to gamble on the thought that the current demand will be the same (or greater) by the time they start production til completion... therefore alot of times supply is way smaller than demand... not some evil scheme to create an artifical demand (maybe nike or nintendo can do this). I would hate to make a toy for a show and only sell 5 of 50 I made and have 5 more batches already on order.

Yep. Lets not forget that these are also works of art. You don't normally see prints running in the 1,000s so why expect these toys to run in the same numbers.

I'm lucky my boyfriend is supportive. I'm also lucky he collects transformers and has hobbies of his own that help him understand mine.
He's also happy I stopped collecting the "creepy" stuff

It's not so much knowledge as a suspicion, i.e., when a 3 lbs. Celga box rolls in the front door. I would ship to my office, but that would lead to other questions.
As for the lapdance argument, I can see that going somewhere where I fear to tread.

my girl would love it if it cost maybe half as much. I'm fortunate enough that she loves me, and she knows that for as long as I'm able, I will collect japanese toys. I get a lot of eye-rolling. if she knew how much I paid for any of this stuff, she'd probably kill me. Only the collectors understand the magic of it all, but to everyone else it's "you paid $60 for THAT?" It was SB, so I don't blame them. I even said the same thing when my first SB piece showed up.

Lol! I think if I wasn't already a part of the Japanese toy scene, I wouldn't appreciate these enough to want to buy them, but I dunno...they are tasty.

I love everything about it from the packaging, to the colors, to the awesome glow. Super-killer toy by all means. He reigns supreme over his two Galtan bros. on the top shelf.

Banshee - can you post a photo of the X-Ray in it's non-glowing state? Does it just look like a normal clear vinyl? It looks freaking awesome glowing, but I just wonder what it looks like in daylight...wanna know if I actually need to track it down.

I'm not sure if it's the vinyl that was used (maybe because it happens to be GID), or the production techniques, but he's not crystal clear -- kind of a very opaque light white. Sure thing. Give me just a sec. here and I'll post a pic. Does everyone's RFSO Galtan have a white star on the butt? It looks as if a little star decal was applied, painted over, then removed, leaving just the base GID vinyl color behind.
