 To tell you the truth she was joking around about the pink colorway so just for fun I did one and ended up LOVING it! When she saw it she wouldn't stop bugging me to do one in that colorway. :)

Your wife's colorway kills. It reminds me of 'weathered Iron Man.'

Great, great, and great. Congrats - it's a big leap, but this seems like a design many people would like. And the pink and green is awesome - please follow up on that.

It's a robot so for the most part it will be shiny.... maybe even metallic.
One colorway I was thinking about was O.D. green in a matte finish.

We're shooting for a $60 dollar price point.

After thinking on it. He reminds me of the evil robot from the Disney pic, The Black Hole. It must be an archetype feature with the eyes. Can anyone else see it? Chop off his legs and Viola!

And better than vinyl would be to see him in metal. He's detailed so that it would definitely be worth the cost!

Looks like they smoothed out the area under the eyes, like the muzzle I guess you'd call it. Before it had sharper edges, now it seems more like your drawings very cool!

Thanks, yeah the nose area was totally wrong on the first clays but I think it was because my drawing couldn't illustrate that detail well enough. The sculptor is very gifted. It only took him less than two weeks to sculpt him the first go and several days for the revisions. I also sculpt and it would have taken me twice as long. I like the eyes, before it was just flat on the "mask". Also the gun ports on his forehead is sculpted in intead of just being a flat detail. It's almost there just one more sets of changes and I think it'll be ready for "tooling phase". I can't wait to get the first vinyl test shots  :D

That's what I think works about this overall, is it will probably look cool clean and fresh, or rusted and battle-damaged. It's really cool.

I just read through your initial post for the first time and I must say I'm very excited for you. I think it a lot is added to a piece when you know exactly where it came from, you can see the countless hours spent trying to make a dream become reality. I will definitely be adding this to my shelf when it comes out, and the pink colorway sounds rad.

I'm a Fresh Meat when it comes to production timeframes for figures, but how long does it usually take for it to go from a prototype sculpt, to a full production?

I'll be glad to help if I can. Sort of like what Frank did several posts above. :)

Thanks .
The time frame question...Depending on the project and the amount of corrections /changes etc. Usually from start to finish given that you already have an agreed price for the whole job. About 5-6 months.
