Still haven't spot any this new shintosannnnnnn on YJA :(

the reason there are no shintosan's on YJA is that there were 70 made. 70! so they didn't sell out. so the flippers are thinking that they won't go ballistic. obviously there is a lot of demand here on the board so I will try and see if we can get Ramos a refill.

I want a gold lucky cat. I think my luck will be better than with a GID Chaosman. ppl are already paying 100+ for the CM and the auctions still got a lot of time left. I'm going for a lucky cat and an Oni or Shintosan when I get the loot and some of the hype dies down.

pics soon. everything at the show has been previously released. If some one took a picture of every figure there and put it all together i think it would make an amazing MOOK.

I swear I would kick that dudes ass if he got 675USD for a figure he JUST paid 35bucks for. The guy who spends that much already kicked his own ass, so what can you do? This kind of stuff kills me a little inside.

What the companies should do is re-release this stuff in small quantities at other events from time to time. It would at least keep these damn guiltless douchebags at bay--rather than ON the Bay. that's what I would do if it was my toy company.

anyways...

AGREE !!!

And also to avoid the shill bid like this
http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f55139978

buyer bobbaby006 (YJA) = auction_Toy = old balance = lcatnz(bay) = the seller

A friend of mine who tried their bidding service verified bobbaby006 is old_balance. And.... they got several ID on the bay and YJA. BeWARE !

I think a re-release plan would not only keep the flippers from taking advantage of our hopelessly pathetic-asses, but it would also give the figures a chance to stand the test of time, so that people who buy a new figure, will buy it because they truly wanted it for what it is--not because they think they'll be the only kid on the block who's got one. This has re-sell implications too. The guy who is selling figure X for a chunk of change had to have held onto it for a good while for the "final word"--meaning they and we all know that there will probably be no re-releases of this figure. This might take some of the "fun" out of the whole thing for some people, but it keeps things fair for everyone else--especially the creators and artist who MAKE the damn things. I'm not saying every figure needs to be re-released, but it'd be great if some of them were from time to time and unexpectedly anywhere from 2 to 5 years. This will create a sense of excitement and anticipation for ppl who missed out the first time. Some of these companies are already hush-hush about run#'s and stuff like that so hitting us up with a re-release out of nowhere would be cool.

I disagree. I'm one of those thrill-of-the-hunt people. Sometimes it's good not to have access to toys that you want; keeps you hungry.

Moreover, I'd rather have the makers involved in generating innovative colorways and sculpts, rather than rehashing old designs to satisfy the masses. That kind of thing takes it over from the creative process to the 'manufactured toy' feel.

yeah, I see what you're saying. I like the hunt too--and I don't mean for anyone to eliminate that--only to change it. I don't mean that the companies should pump out big runs of each over time--I just mean maybe at next year's so-and-so event they might surprise you with 5 figures of a VHTF colorway mixed in the bunch--or not--but make it a possiblity. That way, nothing much changes but the aftermarket dynamic because no one knows what will be the "holy grails" until a little while has passed. Just keeps the flippers on their toes and keep people coming to the source for a little longer. This might especially be favorable with the growing popularity of these things. I think the "hunt" element would still be there, but the companies are planting a seed of hope--hell it might even get people to come out to more shows not only to grab the new stuff, but to possibly find a old gem--or not.

you know, I think Gargamel has been pumping out very limited runs of some of their old releases--and most of us don't know what they're gonna be. The stuff still sells-out and is hard to find, but flippers don't have an upper hand after the show's over because we never know what might be see around the corner a few months from now. we keep checking back with Gargamel from time to time and the money eventually goes where it should.

Thank you very much for sharing the pictures datadub. :-)

The Oni Marylin fan art is hilarious. All the fan art was great to see.

I see a big Daruma man on top of the case. From what I can see, it looks like a regular traditional Daruma ... but is it actually something Mori did?
