Kaji (blobpus) has asked all of us to keep an eye out for any auction hanky panky on the part of Old Balance (like shooting fish in a barrel I would think)

I think the older Blobs are even smaller editions - 20 pieces and under (someone correct me if I'm off).

wonder if old balance is trying to clean up its act a bit?? They are adding 'serial numbers' and the sale is only by e-mail...

it would be nice if we could know the history w/out just a blanket statement against them, please.

Search: Old Balance in the Real Head forum and look around. I think the thread got locked but for those in need of a history lesson, it's there.

Your results may be better if you include the term "ebay" in your search.

Ok, i'm sorry, but i looked up ebay and old balance and got 55 pages of topics....i have lots more to do than to search for a little piece of history, that the only reason i asked was because someone i know and respect said we should boycott them....
now it's one thing if i come on and say
"what is a gogamezilla?"
and another thing entirely if i say,
"why should i not buy from this company?"
when someone has called for a boycott, i think a reason needs to be given if the boycott is to be effective and not expect someone to search 55 pages for the one artcile that would clear it up for him....that's not being lazy, i just have other things to do than search 55 pages to know why i should not buy, thats all.
i think usually when someone issues a strong directive like that, the info should be there to back it up, people being asked not to buy shouldn't have to go out of their way to know why, yknow?

I dont wan't to post libelous stuff on here.
Maybe someone did some unsavory things through Ebay using a certain exclusive Chaos that may or may not have actually been offered to the general public
All second hand information, dunno. I intend to boycott this release but its a nice colorway.

it is just my opinion on this seller. take it or leave it. I don't want to spend my time writing a 5 point plan of why this dude sucks.

I am with Ramos on this one, if your not willing to do the research (and use the search engine) you might want to take the advice of people that have been around long enough to know better.

Wise words, this “seller” and his cohorts are money hungry creeps, and want nothing more than to make a dollar over making this community what it stands for. Seriously kids, buy stocks, more money there than toys. Let us be what we are.

Don't know much about 'Old Balance' but just based on their eBay store I can see they have very very cut-throat pricing. Seems like all their items are marked up waaaaaaaaaaaay more than it should be. Funny thing is that some people buy them which makes you think if it's for real? These are the people that made evilBay evil.

Here's the short version: Had exclusive RxH, when sale day came way less (1-5?none?) than announced were sold, later OB's ebay name suddenly starts selling them for 3x retail.
Short, short, short version: They suck.

Wonder if BLObPUS (Kaji) had anyone online trying to order these tonight (to see if they were actually offered).
That would have been a fairly easy way to see if Old Balance really sold any tonight through its "exclusive offer".
My guess is its actually exclusive to Ebay at a huge markup.

Meh, it's a beautiful colorway, but I chose not to go for it based on exactly what shibby said. I think the problem with these guys preying on the collector community is that they're also collectors. By doing their thing "in the game," they can effectively keep up on new releases while earning the funds to acquire vintage/rare/expensive stuff or what have you. Just a semi-educated guess, but I think this is probably why they take advantage of the international kaiju collecting community ... for good or ill, they're a part it.

I decided to forget about this release. With all the goodness KT is bringing it was an easy decision.

Out of curiosity (and after reading up on the Auction Toy/OB connection) I emailed Auction Toy to see if they could get this set, and how much it would cost. They responded, saying they could sell it to me for the same price as the online sale. Maybe they've learned something from the RxH fiasco, or maybe Blobpus has been cranking out so much stuff lately that they couldn't even sell 30 of each at retail? Is everyone sure OB = Auction Toy? Am I sure I even care?

Interesting comments. I went to the Old Balance site on the offering date to see if they were legit. It would appear as if the offer mysteriously disappeared. No mention of the offering at all. No access through the offer window. Nothing. Then on Sunday, this morning, I go to the site to find out they SOLD OUT. Coincidence?!! Doubtlful.
Did any one get one? I know you have to go the Kaiju Witness Protection Program to admit this, but it would add legitimacy to the negative claims if no-one else was able to get one through the offering.
Apparently, something is fishy in Japan. And Khanate--- Maybe you were offered a set to quell the discussion. You know, throw a dog a bone, so you can eat your roast in peace.
This has all the earmarks of a bogus offering. Somebody mention this to Mori, OK?

RxH Mori? He already knows about Old Balance.
