Post Price check on Skull Brains
I've started to try and build up my collection of Skull Brains. Found a couple at Mandarake, YJA etc. but I was wondering whether someone could give me an idea as to where pricing stands for these figures? What is a reasonable amount to pay? Which are more elusive? Dates and release numbers? Any info. would be appreciated. Thanks.

thats a MASSIVE set of questions.

you might what to do some more digging yourself, and then come back with specifics.

and take it easy, it's not gonna make sense overnight.

they can be anywhere between 50 and 400 dollars, and prices are constantly fluctuating. It's basically a how bad do you want it question cause there's always a chance it will be cheaper down the line or more expensive.

you should look at past posts, all the info is pretty much there.

Yeah, and different ones seem to come out of the woodwork at diff times. Seems like the Warp brain was pretty rare--and very popular b/c it's a cool design. But now they seem everywhere! Couple here and there on ebay and frequently 3-4 on YJA.

On the other hand, certain really rare ones are never around...employee secreter anyone? I could use one!

These guys and gals are a wealth of knowledge. I've learned everything I know about SB from the people here.

You'll get the hang of it in no time.

There are lots of skullbrains, and they are by far the most desired figures (as a character) to get a hold of from SB. (Older Obake Ghost figures are hard as well, and the original 2 pumpkins are near impossible). Technically, there are 28 skull brain variations (that is NOT including the pumpkin or damaged which are based on the same body style and have the same inner head as well). The newest version, the black skeleton with white head and red scarf is still available for original issue price of $50. After that, they rise incrementally from $50 to $250, but the vast majority of the figures are around $75-125.

The skull brain figures from the Atmos box sets (they are packaged with a skull bee as well) are the cheapest to acquire, but can usually be only bought in sets which drives the price up because you have to buy two figures at once. There was the original red+blue atmos set, then 7 different colored sets based off of white +other colors released later, and lastly a set for the Osaka opening of Atmos in a glod + black colorway.

There are also 7 different Secret5 figures, all of which have clear colored bodies and pipe cleaner inserts whcih are very sought after, luckily these were made in good numbers, so, they can be tracked down (5 of them at least -the sun, forest and employee version being the hardesy to find.)

In issue #9 of Super7 we have a picture of every SB released to that point, but since then, there have been lots of releases. We are working on an update to that article, so I can't give it all away!

Just the type of info I was after. Thanks a lot Brian!

I've been using the SB web site as a guide to gauge the number and variety of these figures. Clearly it is in need of an update as well!

Thanks again. I appreciate your help.

Yes, the Forest has a clear torso. There is a paper insert of what I think is a boxing glove inside (just like the heart in the valentine GF).

I just got the Sun thanks to Knewnan. That leaves just the Forest Secreter for me to get. Kelly, I will dance fight you to the death for the next one that pops up!

The UBIQ Damage Brain has got to be the hardest to find. I think I only know once when it came for sale (the one Frank snagged, natch). Everything else I've seen up at least a couple of times.

Now that I know it's chest is clear with something inside I will declare a Jihad (Dance fight style if need be) on all who stand in my way.
