Damn... now the only chance I have of scoring a piece is from OneUp's lottery (chances are probably even lower)

Me too. At least they let me know - not good news, but at least they seem to give a shit.

GolDangnabbit Dangblummit! The sheriff is near.
Well it spares me from adding a GID magman to the order to save on shipping. The house wins again.

Do you love me, now, for trying to lower expectations on this?
Oh, and the One-Up lottery results came in a few days ago....

I don't get why they Medicom/Fewmany/whoever started a buzz on these things by displaying unreleased figures at events, releasing some online in very small numbers, etc. only to officially (and finally) release less than a 100 of them. Maybe they'll be more on the way in a couple weeks, but they want to make sure each wave sells out. I'm still hopeful/naive/in denial.

no way. I'm not blowing up your spot. I'm talking about the ppl behind the product. Whetting our appetites just to release a handful. T9G does work for Touma who gets 500 immortal Goons released, but his own piece gets 65? 'tis the nature of the business, I guess.

500 pieces is too much thats why, 65 is just fine. I think the further people stay away from mass-production the happier the kaiju collectors are.

I don't think T9G has quite the fan base as Touma, though he's gaining steam quickly now, 500 would probably be overdoing it

I don't think kaiju collectors would complain if they produced more GID Rangeas. 65 pcs only covers about a fraction of the demand. The figure looks good and thats why it sells. We're talking worldwide consumption of vinyl collectors. I'm still bummed about not being able to get one but I'll never succumb to flippers taking advantage of this situation.

I think 300-500 is a fair number for a world wide release. It gives everyone a chance to get one and that may prevent flippers from trying to make a quick buck. Plus, if you like a toy, the more of it the merrier, which means I rather have a toy I love that has a run of a million than stressing out over a toy that has a run of 65!

I agree 500 would be too much, but I'm saying making more than 65--maybe a run of 120+ isn't really reaching for the stars.

Well maybe the stress is what keeps it interesting to me. If they had these huge runs and you always got what you wanted then there is no thrill of the chase. I think the fact that sometimes people on the board get something rare and sometimes they dont is what keeps the balance.
Maybe my ethos wont allow me to love something that is extremely mass-produced. Why not make runs of 10,000? I think you are lying to yourself if you think you would love a toy of a million rather then a run of 60 and that you would enjoy something if it was always offered to you.
I think you are just upset you didnt get your rangeas but believe it or not you will find one for a reasonable price if you wait long enough.
