No, really some people just don't mind. I like a toy for the toy itself and not for how limited it is. Sure there's a certain pride and privilege in owning one that's rare but I will not be turned off just because it's more mass produced. I didn't start collecting toys because of the thrill of the hunt or rarity. I like them as they are, very simple.

Yes of course we're upset about not scoring one but it doesn't mean we have a biased attitude on wanting more availability. The more the merrier is what I like. Would we prefer girls to be rare too? I freakin hope not.

Thank you. Sometimes a rare figure is fun to look for and cool to have (sure), but that's not why I like what I like--believe it or not. If you, me and everyone on this board who wanted one, got a GID Rangeas, I wouldn't like it any less. As long as I have ONE in my collection--that's about as "rare" as I care for it to be.

I know but the fact is that there isn't enough of this one, so no use lamenting over it. The fact is that they have rare releases and bigger releases for fans, that is just how it is. This was harder to get but that doesn't mean you wont find one similarly priced in the future. That was my point.

We're not mourning over the loss of the GID Rangeas. Rather, this little debate was about whether collectors prefer vinyl toys to be less or more exclusive. Have you seen the Kaiju-Taro 1st Anniversary Summer Fest. 2007 topic? Same ruckus and it'll never end unless more are being offered.

Based on my experience with some of the vinyl stuff out there, some of these companies got it backwards. I won't mention any nameS, but Everyone forks out the Cash foR thEse figures whenever a new colorway Turns up. I like some of their sculpts too, But the quAlity leaveS much to bE desired though the runs aren't very big.

Yeah, it's true that folks can get careless with big runs, but it depends on the company, too.

Yes in some cases but that's all dependent on production QC. I highly doubt there'll be any significant quality difference if production increased from 65pcs to 130pcs. Unless if they were beating and not feeding the slave workers.

I'd like to think that most of us collect for the satisfaction of owning a piece they really like rather than for exclusivity, bragging rights, or godforbid... the chance to flip for a large profit margin. I do agree that a figure that takes effort in acquiring brings more satisfaction, but a piece that becomes an instant "grail figure" leaves a rather negative feeling about this all too expensive and time consuming hobby. A grail figure to me is 1 that I've passed on at release for whatever reason or 1 that I didn't know was released and found out after it has skyrocketed in price and creates the dilema whether it is worth picking up when it presents itself later on. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.

For the record from what I've heard 150 more of these will be released in September. Hopefully that makes everyone who didnt score one, including myself, happy.

The GID Rangeas is indeed an edition of 150.
50 each for Project 1/6, One-up, and Fewmany.

Unfortunately not the case imho and experience.
That's precisely why these things are released in artificially low numbers and upteen color ways...

I went to the Fewmany site to preorder a GID Rangeas for September, but they've stopped taking preorders.

FOOK man!

You actually have to send them an e-mail per the English instructions; international buyers cannot purchase from the webshop.
