It would be twice as expensive. There is no rotational molding machine big enough to make it. The wall will need to be extremely THICK and would cause it to collapse under it's own weight in time.

advantages of fiberglass:
retail price is 1/6 od what a similiar size piece in softvinyl would be
weight is like 1/5th
much more durable. if it gets dirty just HOSE IT OFF in the driveway.
brighter colors possible
yard display? NO PROBLEM. toss it in the pool? IT FLOATS.
WILL NOT DEFORM DUE TO HEAT.

I'm getting more stoked by the minute as this is all settling in
And I agree if its not a rendition of an old color way I think darker colors would be better.
But there is SO much you can do with auto paint. I would like to see some crazy metallic old school chopper colors over a black base !

Question about the sculpt, maybe I missed it. Will this be 100% based on the regular toy we have (for example, you ship your sculpture a Mutant Evil and he just biggens it) or will you be slightly redesigning it ala Bigazz and the sculpt will be based on that?

My guess is since this is "official" that no tweaking is needed. At least I hope not.

If it's upfront with the creators, then it can't be a bootleg by virtue of definition.
And I agree with LASH, Hot Rod apps. How about a flamed piece? Or make the metallics old merc colors ( Candy appled reds, etc. ) Chroming would be too over the top. Unless it's a hood ornament like the little Blobpus guys. Or ask MORI what trips his trigger most.

I say if we're gonna go with repro-ing an existing colorway that we hold an "EVIL" beauty contest. Post pics of colorways and we''ll decide by poll count or something like that.

I'm gonna have Evil on one side of the stairwell, Bigazzallon on the the other side. I guess not, damn thieves, cause I'd have to be out on the porch with a shotgun all day instead of just the half day I put into it now.

I had this fiberglass piece before and it gave off a nauseating smell, so I junked him to a friend.
will this piece be like the giant [expletive deleted] in stiffness and feel?

Presumably Frank will use the same plant he did for the Major Mao - I got that one, and it had no smell at all that I recall. Plus, in the 'flesh,' fiberglas shows off paint like a dream.
I'd certainly agree that, whatever the final scheme, using some of the new high-tech paint colors/effects from House of Kolor would be the most. I'm getting psyched.

it will be the same quality as the big Mao. If youve seen it in real life, its very good quality. I have one of those giant [expletive deleted] and the quality will be much better.
