Well, the custom featured in the ad at the DDR site is so well done that you can hardly tell it's Skumbo, but as I understand, Skumbo is the one KR/Tris Eaton toy that even ardent KR/Tris Eaton fans loathe with a passion, so I'm not sure anyone ever cared much (?) Even KR Guru has made cracks about the toy. Most odd, but maybe the artists have done great things with the platform. Kathie Olivas' name was the only one listed that I recognized.

Correct you all are. No one does, nor have they ever cared about Skumbo, hence the reason for a custom show. The piece actually lends itself quite nicely for custom work. And, the pieces in the show are actually pretty amazing. Before you judge it on face value I do recommend you try to come out and see what these people came up with.

The gallery isn't going to be a custom toy gallery either. It just happens to be the first show. Just thought this would be a good place to announce the gallery opening for those who may be interested. Thanks again...

Aside from the obvious, this is NOT KR SHIT! We took a stupid design(s) and had them turned into pieces of art. Again, we're an art gallery and this happens to be the first show. Thought some peeps interested in art might be interested in visiting the gallery. Chill out and try to look outside the box for a minute and appreciate the custom work that went into each piece instead of the lame company that produced them. We're not fans of KR here either... and we're not trying to promote them at all. Just the art

Awesome! A suspected spam  thread in Muton's Minute - I feel honored!

Being on a Western base, let alone a SKUMBO base, it was bound to attract derision from the Jp Vinyl Hardcore...

By the way, I do own a Skumbo, so I gave it a shot...and it is not pretty.

Seriously, when I have a chance I will check out the website. WHo knows, maybe the customs are ultra-rad?

Honestly, I didn't know which thread I just post in. This seemed to be the best one since we're just a stones throw from LA is all...

Yeah, I figured we'd get some flack about it being Western vinyl and then being a Skumbo, but I was hoping that people would look past that and see the art. That's all we're trying to promote here is the gallery and the art. If I didn't think there was going to be some appreciation with some board members I never would have posted here at all.

There are some great pieces in the show. Thanks for the open mind

It's weird though, I have friends in Long Beach, and yet I never visit them - its seems like its so far away.......
