My Damns have dots with streaks...
hey, the last two damns i've gotten have like tiny dots with streaks... and the last two i've gotten are the gargamel 3rd anniv. and a pushead HSP. i have no intention on returning or selling any of them, but they bother me a little (i mainly think it's weird)... i was wondering if it has anything to do with the painting process. anyone else notice this (or am i just unlucky)?

Just got my 3rd ann. damn today, and its got the same shit!
Oh well, it doesn't look half as bad as the superglue marks I left after having to manually attach the propellor blades to my zag plane. It actually kinda makes the thing look even more badass!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't use Superglue on vinyl!
Try Zap-A-Gap or another vinyl safe glue.

Man that's wierd. Anybody know what causes those black dots? The streaks don't seem as bad.

But doesn't Zap a gap also contain cyanoacrolyte (sp?)?

I think they add character - like a pimple or freckle. Maybe they're little blackheads (or pusheads)?

The main chemical in superglue and Zap is cyanoacrolyte. It's the juice that makes it bond instantly. Superglues "zap a gap" version is actually thier Gel so it's really no diff....
I guess this is why "love" sometimes hurt

I don't know what the difference is between the two, but Zap-A-Gap works great on vinyl and Superglue just slides around and leaves a white residue.

yeah, i guess it adds character... i'm just puzzled why they're there though. would rather them not be there, but i can live with it. found it odd that both figures had something similar.

Wabi-Sabi Baby!
From Wikipedia:
"From an engineering or design point of view, "wabi" may be interpreted as the imperfect quality of any object, due to inevitable limitations in design and construction/manufacture especially with respect to unpredictable or changing usage conditions; then "sabi" could be interpreted as the aspect of imperfect reliability, or limited mortality of any object, hence the etymological connection with the Japanese word sabi, to rust.
A good example of this embodiment may be seen in certain styles of Japanese pottery. In Japanese tea ceremony, cups used are often rustic and simple-looking, e.g. Hagi ware, with shapes that are not quite symmetrical, and colors or textures that appear to emphasize an unrefined or simple style. In reality, the cups can be quite expensive and in fact, it is up to the knowledge and observational ability of the participant to notice and discern the hidden signs of a truly excellent design or glaze (akin to the appearance of a diamond in the rough). This may be interpreted as a kind of wabi-sabi aesthetic, further confirmed by the way the glaze is known to change in color with time as tea is repeatedly poured into them (sabi) and the fact that the cups are deliberately chipped or nicked at the bottom (wabi), which serves as a kind of signature of the Hagi-yaki style."
