ahhh! I just got a sold out email. I've been sitting here at my computer since 11:50am waiting for the email (I kept refreshing it every couple of minutes)to buy it and as soon as I got it I emailed for it. Really can't believe this...I don't know how much faster I could have been... I am so bummed out right now!

constantcontact.com does not seem to be the smart way to reach your customers.

Yeah I missed out too! I replied right after getting the email...I understand the limited nature is part of the appeal, but I would think the point of the "subsriber version" is to reward your subscribers...just bummed out.

It is an interesting twist, we made subscriber versions originally as a "thank you" to our subscribers, a little bonus if you will. Something special you could have in your collection, that even other subscribers may not have. Now, everyone wants the sub version more than the regular version because it is more "limited" and "rarer". Interesting how the collector mentality drives someone to go for the most rare version no mater what, and leaves the regular behind. We got 400% more requests than figures on hand for the sub version, and less than half of those folks wanted a regular. I am not sure if it is money thinning out, or $$ signs in the eyes, but it is odd that so many people would rather get none than at least one.
Sorry if you are bummed, sorry if you missed it. I am glad for those of you that got one, but the "super limited" nature of a subscriber version may be causing more problems than will be warranted for a while. We'll keep it regular for a bit.

a fun experiment would be to switch it up.
Tell everyone that the regular one is actually the sub version and more rare.
That would be the fastest way to figure out who genuinely likes the figure...and who is more concerned about "investment opportunities."

You have a point Brian, but I have to say in my personal taste the green GF was much nicer than the regular White Day version. I don't feel the regular verson as black/white/red are a little played out for me at the moment. The green was a different touch. Well done on those who picked them up!!
Often the rare vaersions are more sort after because the colourways seem that bit more cooler or experimental.
Limited numbers are also a factor though. Unfortunately.

sorry about this email thing. my inbox got flooded so fast with so many emails that it reached its limit. Then people sent the emails 3 to 4 times so that clogged it up even more when I upped my mailbox size.
I think we should stop having this mega rare ones and only have the rare ones.

to be honest with ya, the numbers didn't even play a part for me. I didn't even know it was "super limited" I knew there would be less than the regular but I didn't pay attention to numbers. I just started collecting SB and I decided to just concentrate on the GhostFighters and I just started my subscription because I thought we would be guranteed the subscriber exclusives I didn't know the limited amounts. I am just really bummed because I thought I would be walking away with the set, and I got a really dissapointed after refreshing my email for 3 hours only to get a sold out notice. and I did buy the regular version earlier today. I get the limited amounts now though. I am really looking forward to my regular white day Ghost Fighter! I just got a rainy day today so I'm up to three GF's
on another note if anyone who was able to score one is willing to let it go for a fair price, please keep me in mind.

Well first....big "ups" to Brian and IR for their hard work...on the GFs in general and on this (I'm sure) hectic day.
Yeah, I'm still bummed about not getting the subsriber version but it's obviously not a big deal. I'll prob have that money set aside for it spent soon anyway More than anything, I guess I was surprised that after responding so soon after getting the subscriber email, I was still shut out. I just didn't realize either the extremely limited numbers of these or the freakish ability of so many collectors able to respond so soon after getting the email!!
As far as the philosophy of having the "uber limited" versions, it is interesting that so many more people just wanted the subscriber. I personally did like the green better, but the regular was no slouch either and I picked that one up as well, right when it went up on the site...
I would say different versions could/should still exist...lots of other creative ideas could be employed...coupons again, some sort of disc board exclusives, contests etc. etc. Sure some ideas may end in small disasters. But it gives us toy nerds something to do!
I'm still having fun. I hope others are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted it because I like Ghostfighers best. It's been pretty nice to have a bunch of them come out in such a short time to fill out my collection...

Personally I liked the green colorway better and I'm broke, especially thanks to the new starter I had to buy for the car this morning-wee. So I couldn't get both and had to roll the dice.
But I know what you are saying about people and the rarity of a figure. It can make people a little nutty. Look at over on the KR board, it's all about getting the limited editions. Pages and pages of people lording their toys over other people...I can't find the fun in that...
And I swear to god if these start popping up on ebay tomorrow I'm going to start punching nuts-hard. With a hammer...

Personally i'm just sick of red, black and white. Anyone whos seen my collection knows i'm not a whore for rarity.
I'm sad but missing this is not the end of the world i loved the minty green theme, it was pretty different for Secret Base, but maybe if i twist someones arm.... LOL
Secret Base, Skull Brain, and Super 7 ROCK!
Lets all keep it real and remember what these toys and this board are all about
(it think thats my first rallying cry in MONTHS but this board deserves a good one )

I plan on picking up the other one. Thank you guys for doing a super limited, I dig that. Most of the time I miss out, but then its really cool when I get a limited that I am really into.
