Hmmm.. I guess I consider anything that Mori gives the okay on, an official piece/release. If he made just one and put it out there, either gift or for sale its an official 1/1 RxH figure , well to me at least. All the gifts he gave ... the Datadub black and white set, the mondo protos etc.. to me are all 1/1 RxH figs all worthy of being in the back catalogue along with all the protos and all. Everything counts not just runs of 5 or more. So if Frank ran this by Mori and he said go for it, to me this would become an official RxH 1/1 if not it becomes a Kozik custom. Now Mori said its a go for his run of pickle surprise figs but this is another story. Its not the painter but the approvial by the owner. So, so far this isn't an official 1/1 RxH but rather a killer Kozik custom.

Frank don't get me wrong this is a killer custom and I do hope I can bid for it if it goes online :) . But I just want to know fro myself what its considered.

So do offiicial releases have to be more than just 1 of the figure ??

Or is it anything that Mori approves of ??

And what defines a 1/1 or there no such thing, but the 1/1 just customs ?

You can see I have wayyyyyy to much time on my hands today :)

I can see where you're going, because if Franks 1 off counts as "officail" what's to say just anyone taking a RxH figure and painting it isn't "official."

I say since it was blank and MEANT to be painted, AND Mori said cool, it's "official" just not production. I break "official" releases up into production and 1 offs. So it goes under 1 offs. That's just how I think of it though, whatever that's worth.

I have no way to answer your question, since theres no 'governing body' to regulate this sort of thing.

personally..I would say that this is not an official RxH 1/1 because it didnt originate entirely from Japan.

It is however a 1/1 Kozik customized RxH because I wont paint any more this way.

whereas i would consider say one of the Pickles a 1/84 'approved' by RxH piece.

It wont be for sale online. It will be blind bid auctioned at the show with a minimum bid of 100.00

Why does it have to be made entirely in Japan to be official ?

I meant in general.

Basically, thus far, Mori has been fine with me doing what i do with his RxH blanks, so as far as I know 'Kozik x Rxh' is approved. This comes from what Taro at kaiju-Taro and Datadub tell me. Those guys act as my 'go between' wit RxH. I have no way to talk to Mori direct because:

1. he has no email
2. I dont speak Japanese and as far as I know he doesnt speak English, so I cannnot call him on the phone.

as a collector I would only consider a made in Japan, painted in japan by the owner or officially approved japanese painter to be 100% 'real' J figure ONLY.

for example, to me, the Pushead stuff painted by Pushead is less real than the pushead stuff painted in japan.

Wait than by your terms your run of RxH or Rumble Monsters doesn't count ?

And the pushead figures painted by him are less official then his toys painted by another, just because they live in a different country.

What if pushead painted them when he was in Japan :)

Frank I think the V-color, oil paint and the lack of a good vent are finally getting to you :)

Stay up good buddy :)

Dont wish to offend anyone, BUT:

I prefer my figure to be totally done by the owner or "house artist" of the compay. I have never been big on custom painted toys, unless they are done by the artist on HIS sculpt. ie: bwana custom killer and biskup custom pollard.

I prefer my RxH done completely in Japan by Mori, and would be overcome w/ joy by an official "1-off"

-they count, but to me as a collector they are not as 'real' a j figure as the ones made entirely in Japan.

mine are a 50% J/ 50% western figure.

So Pushead himself, painting a pushead figure makes it less of a pushead than a japanese factory worker painting a pushead figure??

Am I missing something?
