See, now if any of us went on game shows, they'd ask about Voltaire, or Nascar...

Things like the pink monster in his avatar have air blown in from underneath. They usually have a portable generator nearby. See 'em a lot in Asia, usually for ads or event mascots.
I feel bad for the S.C. beauty contestant. On the spot public speaking (especially on a stage, under bright lights, and with a TV camera in your face) is really difficult, especially if you're inexperienced. She's not necessarily stupid - just in a really long brain lock, and probably isn't even consciously aware of the words she saying. Notice when her voice raises she's trying to break out of it, but lapses back in again. Thing about Youtube is it makes it a lot harder to live that sort of thing down.

Ya, a really long brain lock.
Personally I think she's just an idiot. Since she's no doubt been raised as a beauty contestant, I would have thought that her ability to speak publicly would have been finely groomed by this point. I'm sure had the question been about the latest episode of The OC her answer would have been very intelligent.

The reason I rather sympathize with her is because I took part in a Chinese speech contest many years ago (televised, in front of an audience and judges, etc) and remember fumbling at the start, even mumbling a string of words that didn't make much sense. After 20 seconds or so I caught my stride and did alright, but it was tough getting going.
Anyway, watching that clip reminded me of that. Of course the court of public opinion isn't seeing her performance in quite the same light, so I can just hope she winds up like the Star Wars Kid and turns the thing around.
