You could buy 16 GID Mutants for the price of this one. that would be awesome.............. for the rest of us.I also agree that the name calling and hate should stop. Calling someone you don't know anything about stupid is lame. I agree, RxH *should* reissue some older style paint jobs and some new ones on the boring blanks ;D
that would be KR's job, not RxH.

Aidan is right, I could have waited till the next one...but when I missed the first one that sold a while back, I just didn't want to lose him again. As far as an investment goes, I never look at any toy purchases as investments.
This was bagged with one of the old headers...and I just couldn't resist.
could i ask a question?
i mean you have been posting less than a month here and you are saying this is one of you all time grails....how long have you been collecting? I am just interested is all.......you seem to have more money than sense (which is cool I am the other way round , which blows) one thing i would say is paitence pays out in the end, I have become friends with several OG board members over the year cause we have things outside of toys in common, and they hook me up whenever they can, and i do the same if i can, throwing cash around and admitting it's crazy seems a little crass to me. I am not having a go just observing........

I want a pony and I want it NOW!
I remember being the same with Skullwings when I first started out . . . but never to the tune of $1k for a single piece! . . .
My methodology is based on . . . $60 retail = generally a no brainer, $100 missed release = acceptable (for being a dumbass), $200 older release = I gotta want it pretty bad to pay that much, $300 holy grail territory = I gotta think on it hard and see if I can sell some shit first! $500+ for a single piece brings me out in a cold sweat!

Just to be on the side of the newbie, I spent 1k last year for a White Chum.
Same story than loggan : I missed one two month before in a fight over Yahoo Japan so when I saw the BIN on Ebay, I just clicked the button.
At that time, I was thinking that was the craziest thing I had done.
Last month, a couple of White Chum have been sold for around $1,600 so I guess it was not that bad.
But for Japanese vinyl, I would say patience is the best method.

I've dropped in on the board for a while now...but didn't join until I met Brian at SDCC.
I've been a Kaiju collector for about 9 years (a lightweight), focused mostly on jumbo machinders and assorted vinyls and some SB here and there. I am still on the look out for one or two jumbo villains (I have pretty much written off finding Garada)...but have most of the ones I wanted for my collection (finally found a boxed Daiku Maryu this past spring), and I love them. I had a few RxH figures in early 2006, and traded some of them in a deal with a bunch of other stuff for a jumbo, and have regretted letting them go ever since.....
There is a similar GID Mutant Head with Green spray that I'm hunting for as well....

while I think patience is a very good thing, i'm not sure it applies in situations like this. As Brian mentioned, these are figures that don't come up very often at all. When they do, all these RxH collectors that have been "patient" are gonna jump all over it and therefore the high price. Were talking about stuff that B. Flynn doesn't own and he's been patient from the beginning!
crazy is all relevant. You don't think your friends and family think you're crazy for spending $60-$100 on a vinyl toy? think again crazy man.

I think this is a good sign. Maybe it will make the RxH guys hyper enough to start releasing MORE production pieces. I like the feeling of owning something limited I guess, but not as much as I like the figure. I have occassionally bought something just for its limited qualities. waste of time to recoup cost plus some.
logang, knowing you are out there makes me worry about bidding on RxH on ebay. I'm glad you got what you wanted to get. Don't let the dog chew on it now.

Well said toybot, let's not hassle him. Sure it's a lot of money but it's his money and he's free to do whatever he likes. Nice addition to your collection, congrats!
