the goga is a favorite of my collection. i don't have the blobpus, but I don't collect blobs so..i am just thankful i got this guy in a trade.
the set is really limited, like 10 or less i think..someone can correct me if i'm wrong.
don't forget that pair of bemons that went recently for like $2k as i recall.

Yeah, Bemons have been up there for a bit...but the most I've ever seen a blob go for was around $250-300...This Blob has got to be one of the coolest though. I doubt you'll see other Blobs go up in aftermarket price from this anyway...

One thing that isn't completely noticeable in the pictures is the glitter on the goga. It's really cool.
I'm guessing the blob is the same way. It really is a great color combo for these figures. A rare set indeed.
I was really impressed with the header card too..goga and blob battling it out.

So, someone broke up the set and you only have the Goga? Who the hell would break up such a set?!

to my knowledge, I don't think the set was broken up.
The friend I got it from had received it as an "extra surprise" in a package and he already had the complete set. he then traded it with me.
So no, there was no broken set that I know of.
It was a true rfso trade.

How would you feel if you guys had been trying about 2 years to get this, only to watch it get bid up by a bunch of people who just got into it?
I don't think you guys have been collecting this stuff long enough to call it a "holy grail."
Holy Grail is something that you would have to search for YEARS to find, and most people around here haven't been, myself included.
I am so tired of hearing "wah wah my holy grail!"
Especially when everyone seems to have a new one each month.

Thanks atease and akum6n. OK, I can see that one going for giant clams, but still, $1000 seems excessive. The day I spend 1k on kaiju, it had better be vintage.

far too much in my opinion, but there seem to be a lot of spendy people around these days.

That's for sure. I just wonder how much of the uber-spending is done "for love" and how much "for investment." In this case, either is conceivable, but IMHO neither scenario warrants quite that high of a bid. Mysteries of The Collecting Mind...

With the Internet, there are no more grails. A grail is fairly impossible to obtain. These days it's just waiting and luck.

Those purchasing toys for 'investment' are playing a fools game.

certainly, the ones throwing stupid money like that won't be able to recoup that much... I really hope it's out of love and not just a impulse whim.

That's rough! I'd only want lil' Goga too, but the colors on these dudes are nuts! I'd probably kill someone for the full sized matching Goga.
