fingers crossed on MY Zagorans... did you ... get .. the .. green + brown mini :?:

Well after getting an email from Whitney it turns out a number of us ordered the green & brown mini Zag. My order for it got refunded. Anybody here get lucky and score it?

I'm not too bummed about not getting it though; I managed to get the Baby Toxic Zag. Score! :D

And big props to Whitney and the rest at Roto for doing their best with the server meltdown, and going the extra distance to do right by everyone who got something refunded. Roto rocks.

take a close look at them. I think they all may be diffrent shades of clear vinyl? I guess it comes with the cool gargamel case too.

Yes, they are all slightly different shades of vinyl. Clear with a touch of glow. This may be the only set available for sale ever. The vinyl is quite unique, Kiyoka has been working on this technique for a while. The case is included in the set and is made of steel, glass, has an etched Gargamel logo on the back panel, and a glass shelf with light. Not cheap. Shipping from Japan and the gallery commission aslo had to be taken into consideration when deciding prices. His other clear pieces in the show also include the custom made etched figure stands.

heh, I didnt buy the darn thing.

I think the $165 mini zag was okay priced.

Well multiply $165 x 7 and you get 1155.00. If you add in just 45 bucks for the crazy cool case and the fact that this is a one of a kind clear colored zag set, I think the price warrants the purchase.

I'm just sayin'! 8)

Good point, but I guess you have to be a major Zag fan too.

I just wanted to thank Kirby publicly for handling the server meltdown situation with class and grace - these things happen. Yeah, I lost out on one of the custom eyezon's (the red one - who ever got that, congrats! - it's awesome) but Kirby was totally cool about it. Can't ask for more than that.

Great show - thanks for all your efforts!

NUTS! I wish there'd be a production run of the GID/Clear stuff from Gargamel, like the Rainbow Killer army or these. Seems tough though. Exohead pulled it off, and now it seems like Gargamel is trying it out. New ideas are always cool, I still couldn't spend $1,200 on it, but wish I could. Maybe we'll get a set of clear/gid Bakos!?? PLEASE!

Mmmmmm I'm still thinking overpriced myself. I can get 7 regular release mini zags and rig up a set up for under $1,200 I think. Maybe they're not as special though.

The only piece that seems "worth" it to me was the Pregos Zag, 2 for 1 baby and it's a tight idea. Even then i wouldn't spend the cash on it. Some stuff was reasonable I guess though, nothing over $300-$400 though in my opinion.

the whole show seems to be fantastic - awesome concept and all.
system of selling things to non attendances very gentle and so many
adorable pieces.
only there seems to be little confusion on the pricing.
like a legit gallery giving exact run numbers plus number of artist proofs
for installations, fotos, etc. im missing this here a little - if i may say –
to justify prices for these insane great stuff.

me honestly didn’t get whether the “custom” blobpus
are one offs which im guessing or just a short run
as it says “low stock”?

besides this, i am totally stoked about the show,
with its emphasis on the art aspect of toys.
cant wait to buy some of the toys and
see much more fotos of the show.
awesome - keep it up!!!

Yeah, I get that it's the only set only + the case + import hence the price. Koji cleared all up.

I STILL wouldn't pay that much, or any of those prices, for the one offs, but that's not to say the artists didn't work hard or deliver good stuff. Hope I didn't insult anyone, I can see it coming off a little harsher than I meant it to be. It's a taste thing I guess more than anything.

They are one-offs. With Rotofugi's inventory system, if an item has less than a certain amount of pieces in stock, it will say Low Stock. So if there's 1 through whatever (5? 10?) pieces left, it will say Low Stock. If it's gone it will say Out of Stock. It's not a run.

Fairly certain Bansheebot is right as its my understanding that BLObPUS orders got converted to pre orders meaning they're likely being held until the end of the exhibit which is what happens with the one offs.

I also got a refund for the mini green squishy zag, but the way it was handled made it fairly easy to deal with so I'm not upset, great customer service is what seperates Rotofugi from most of the rest.

This show was definitely not for me.

The Carlos Enriquez Gonzalez (vagina monsters) were cool and obviously remind one of the Barom-1 villains. But the price tags and fiberglass did nothing for me. Now if were to recreate those as vinyl toys and released them in the $100 range, I'd be all over them and buying them all up as a set.

Everything else didn't really appeal to me. I just don't have the need to have some exclusive piece.

I was also shocked at the Blobpus customs. They looked like customs by a first-timer in my opinion. And again, the prices didn't warrant the works.
