lol, oh man, I hope this stays light-hearted... I'm number 11 in that paint by numbers pic, but was 13 in line. The problem with the pic is that not everyone in the first 15 or so people are lined up yet. Some people ahead of me just barely made it back in time w/o losing their place.

As alladinsane said, it's just as possible that auction_toy acquired one through other "means."

stealthtank--I meant to compliment you on your rad shirt, but lost you in the crowd after the lineup.

Totally with you on that one Zac. I am sure there are a number of ways someone could aquire one of these guys without it necessarilly having come from anyone in the lineup - and even if it did, a witch hunt is inappropriate and won't yiel;d any answers - it'll just spread the negativity IMO.

PS. You think this is bad, try getting a ticket to see Ian McKellan in King Lear or teh Seagull at UCLA. The scalpers seemlingly bought all the extra tix and seem to want between 900 and 1200 a ticket! What makes it worse is that many of the people who want to go are older, not as internet savvy, and rely on going to teh box office...only to be disappointed. Yesterday a few extra tickets were made available, I got an allocation online, and then TicketBastards server had a problem with teh incoming traffic - blaaaah!

Just as well... Lear doesn't really do much. It's his crazy daughters that do all the yapping. :D

Wow! This is shaping up as a matter with international implications! Perhaps the FBI, or the CIA, or... Mighty Mouse, should be brought in to save the day?!?!?

Here is a pic with the first 8 people anyway in their ticket order as I remember.

Image

Logang1, not pictured, was Mr. No. 1, followed by Sarah, Tavaro, The Drizzle, me, Stealthrobot, and then No. 7 and No. 8 (both unknown, to me anyway).

I was not directly involved, but there was an effort led by logang1 (I think) to try to get somebody in line to purchase the RxH exclusive for another board member who could not be there.

First, I believe money was paid to two people (random off the street) to stand in line to get tickets - I believe they ended up with tickets 7 and 8. Later, somehow these tickets ended up in the hands of the folks pictured as Nos. 7 and 8 in the picture. I didn't pay attention to what they bought, but as we approached the table to buy stuff, and after logang had finished his purchases, I am pretty sure I saw him hand a folded wad of bills to either no. 7 or 8. I wasn't paying that much attention, but I believe my observation here was accurate. Logang has since told me that they "just ended up buying stuff for themselves" or something to that effect.

(My guess is that it was either no. 7 or 8 that also told someone in line, when asked what they were after, "RxH" after having to check that from a piece of paper. But again, I am not sure.)

I also don't know if all of the first 8 people in line bought the unpainted - there still could have been one left after the first 8 people bought what they wanted.

I bought one of the unpainteds and still have it.

Caveat: I am going by memory and don't have direct knowledge of whether 7 and 8 were mules or not. My apologies for any inaccuracies.

DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!!!! Well wtf does it matter now anyway? Sucks, but whatever I guess. I still want one, but am not willing to go down that path and luckily it seems MOST people who got one are fans and that's cool. I agree though, no witch hunt please it gets outa hand.

LOL

(paragraphs pointing fingers about how it's definitively line members 7 & 8 who were mules for someone else with witness testimony of cash trading hands)

(paragraph saying that preceding paragraphs may be inaccurate)

I think 8 was my friend who was in line. She sent the ticket over but I think I tossed it when she shipped me my stuff. So that accounts for one more.

The main reason I assume the one on the bay was from outside the line is I remember the insanity last year when Steve Agin had an S7 exclusive prior to it being announced or sold (or the free in the buy one a week mini releases on eBay before S7 even had a chance to announce it.) It caused huge drama, people were offended, hurt for S7, and damn pissed off.

No matter how much we hate it these low number releases don't stop extras from being produced and back doored out as gifts and such. I personally bought my Old Balance Chaos at an inflated price from the same board member who has this auction listed and did not sell his own exclusive at retail when he saw the flipper potential.

Serious indeed. But not totally unfounded.

I did ask those guys to hook up Miami, but they were not into it. No wad of bills tho'....

I'm a credit card guy (unfortunately)....but I wouldn't put it past those two guys to flip it.

I'm waiting for someone to put Lee Harvey Oswald or characters from Clue in it since this is such a mystery.

You read too much into what I have written. I am not accusing anyone of anything. I am just stating the "facts" as I remember them.

I thought that was the whole purpose of logang hiring two people off the street to stand in line was to get low-numbered tickets so they could buy the unpainted, as he stated, for a board member who could not be there.

And if you read what I said, I am not even sure No. 7 or No. 8 bought the unpainted. I saw logang hand one of them money, and they were in the spot that he had arranged the tickets for before.

I guess the best thing is to let logang explain what happened himself, and he can say whether what I saw was wrong. Also, Tavaro may be able to shed some light on this because it seems he helped find the first two people off the street to stand in line for the tickets - he walked down the block and hired them.

I think we need Secret Service involvement now. Plus, probably some testimony before the Senate Ethics Committee before this is all over.

[Edit: I see that logang says he didn't hand somebody money - I will accept that at face value, but that's clearly what I thought I saw, and I established eye contact with logang when he did "what I thought I saw" as sort of a "mission accomplished" acknowledgment - on my part at least.]

I am not sure, again, but I don't think no. 8 was a she, but a he. But then there is always "Lola" by the Kinks.

Taro is not wrong, I did hand some cash ($60) to one of those dudes...but it did not work out, they were not into it...and I believe Tavaro's worked out the same way....

Both dudes wound up buying for themseleves, which was fine by me.

Both Tavaro and I were tryin to hook up SBers that couldn't be there....Miami had PM'd me to ask if I could help out, just like lots of others asking for SDCC hookups...and I did my best....but I think those dudes caught wind of how limited the releases were, and just opted out.

I did hook up Miami with the green release tho'.....and that was before we knew more would be released by Roto.
