Ughh. It looks so complicated and commercial compared to the other pieces.
Is the photo a collage, showing a closeup on the left and the figure in perspective to the others on the right? I was expecting a full height 5YL not a mini...

...u can find a dozen views of vader here:
http://instinctoy.blog73.fc2.com/blog-entry-243.html
didnt expect it to be that much smaller too.
now the price seems to be kind of high (both retail and ebay/yja).
true, it looks complicated, normally prefer more abstract simple looks too,
but i kind of like this toyish style on the vader.
guess same thing that makes rxh so popular recently -
its just a toy - not trying to be artistic -
just a very well designed figure.

I'm glad I saw this size comparison because I won't get it now.
Would've bought it to go with a black 5YL but don't need a mini!

5YL Companion was 15 inches tall versus the Vader at 9.8 inches.
Odd that he would lop 5 inches off and I am assuming create a new sculpt/mold for this figure. Maybe its the first of a series at this height??

I'm sure Lucas had a huge say in the size. I think it's sick none the less and it's still at the top of my want list!

Isn't the Ebay/YJA bullshit regarding this piece enough to make you guys lose interest? 6 pieces per seller, shill bidding, idiots bidding on 12 at once, etc. Why even play the game at this point?
It's only my opinion that this piece is lame, but it's a fact that the marketing, re-selling, and price gouging involved with this is as lame as it gets. If I were a fan, this would be enough for me to call it a day.

No doubt, but it's fair. Lucas wants money because, in a sense, he owns like 3/4 of that design, Medicom wants money and KAWS wants money, when there's 3 parties involved, and one is HUGE as Lucas Film is, than price is bound to rise.
I still want one but I can live with out it,I just don't have the drive I guess especially now that I know how short it is.

you guys are right on the money.
i got seriously gouged on the green kaws pus and after learned that it's best to wait it out and get a better deal.
also, it's really shady when all of these shill bid things go on. why bother, the seller's friends are just driving the prices up. remember these are the guys that pay the homeless to stand in line for them...lame lame lame.

I bought one and yes it was a lot of money I had to pay for but its ok.
I'm sure if I want to sell him somewhere in the future I will get back my money. Could you say this about the toys you bought for retail?
Don't misunderstood, the price doesn't say anything about the design or the art of a toy but loosing any interest on it just because flippers and the hk toy mafia push the price seems childish to me.

Not childish . . . just pragmatic.
The Kaws Vader is well worth the $180-200 retail . . . but $500-600 takes it to another level and can buy some pretty iconic pieces.
Also, the Darth Kaws is 'flavour of the week' so prices are to the max!

I think the Dissected is definitely worth the $300-400, its FAR superior to the Vader. I cant help but look at this as a dressed up funny looking doll, definitely not worth more than $300 at the absolute max imo.
The sideview reminds me of Spaceballs haha!
