Now that I can appreciate and agree with. The first Rocky is at least respectable as an auteur film accomplished on a low budget. The graininess of it does serve its subject well, whereas by Rocky III with its hilarious Hallmark Card commercial scene of Rocky and Apollo running lovingly towards each other on the beach, the franchise had been spoiled.
Maybe I was too harsh with my former comment.
