Having lived through a number of critiques, everthing is cool when expressing opinions about a design (good or bad), but then turning around and laying into the person is another thing entirely.

Nobody is doing this here, as far as I can tell.

what's with this dripping shit and calling it hand painted?
the dripping would work if it was sprayed underneath

Looks like a kindergarden art project

I have to agree, it seems this is quite loosely using the term "handpaint"

Is their anything easier then drinpping some paint onto something in no real pattern?! anything? at least you can tell if a splatter looks like crap, other than colorway how do you go, oh wow, those are some really amazing drips.

I will give it that for a punk we don't even care effect, it is cool. As far as how much its done combined with how easy it is and making the pieces overpriced, ridiculous and not punk at all.

Hiddy is the godfather of fight figures right?

If you like Secret base, and are really down with that.

This should mean something to you.

I'm not being a cranky old man when i say...

This board used to be really dedicated and was mostly based on SB a time ago before "Kaiju" became such an electric term.

i think it's nice to have at least one of these if you have a lot of SB.

My one SDCC handpaint looks sort of weird with just a few around it.

But if you have a bunch and your hardcore, it's a nice blade of grass in your SB lawn.

Me thinks.

it's the spirit and a part of the soul of fight figs.

Right there..bam. it's IN there.

Overall, each his own.

i've got the black and green drippy handpaint from GetFatMilk. It's pretty cool. I can see why you guys might not like this Balzac figure, but I wouldn't mind having one.....

I hate, therefore I love....

Or like the Butthole Surfers say in "John e. Smoke"
"To love n' the hate' to the hate n' the love to the love n' the hate."

Or something like them there.

I'd say its more like a patch of crabgrass. Although agreed that it has amazing claim factor on how cool your collection is and was touched by a legend. I'll give it that.

Drip or splatter, for me it's just okay. It really depends on how much is done. In the case of this figure, I think it's just right. The figure without the paint is pretty cool and the amount of drippage (yeah...it's not a real word) just adds to it. Yeah...I like it, plus the choice of colors works well.

I hafto say I was a little disapointed when this was the extent of the "handpaint" after seeing everything done for the SDCC this was a little under my expectations. considering the limitation I thought the effort spent on each might be a little greater. And I do really wish it had a bag on the side like the SDCC HP. On the other hand its my favorite drip effect yet on a balzac toy to date, and I really do think it will fit in nicely with any balzac collection, I don't see this as your average SB toy that anyone would want, as Scapegoat said its more for the Balzac fans. As for the price, maybe it has something to do with the matte finish? New mold needed? I forget the discussion on this. I'm happy with it, but I think if this is just the beginning and ill be pissed if I miss what's bound to be coming up.

yeah -- I'm torn here. I like the sculpt -- the black on its own looks good, but that "paint" job is lacking, especially for what the cost might be.
