 Can't decide on which Hedorah...
I want to get one of the Bandai Hedorah's to practice custom painting. I can't decide between the one with his arms up or arms down. Which one do you guys like best...
Arms Down
or
Arms Up
Also, is regular spraypaint ok to use on PVC and soft vinyl?
Thanks

Weird, are you sure that isnt the same figure with the arms just posed differently? That is crazy if there is a variation.
Usually for vinyl you want to use a paint made for it like V-Color or Sofubi Color. Others wont dry correctly.

I'm pretty sure that's the same figure in different poses.
Incidentally, there is a new wave of Bandai Creation vinyl figures, including Hedorah, at Kay-Bee toy stores right now. They're nicely sculpted and pretty cheap.

They won't dry correctly? Even if I primed it?
What does it look like when it dries?
Who knows, sometimes when things screw up I like the way they look...

Yes, you need to use paint that is specially formulated to stick to vinyl. It's in your best interests to do some research, ask around, and do a search through the BBS for "vcolor" or "v-color" before you start this project.

You dont need to "prime" vinyl. The paints made for it will penetrate it and stick without any help. Other paints have a chemical reaction and wont dry, they will stay tacky for years, I have some vinyl kits I painted with Tamiya as the shop told me it would work and 5 years later anything that touches them will still stick. Like Roger said, do a search, there is alot of great tips from other members about the paint you should use.
