Yes, star people is a half-assed manner of saying something tantamount to "alien" or "extraterrestrial." That is what 星人 means. Many figures have Seijin, or alien as a suffix. Baltan Seijin, etc.
Because the other name is very ambiguous, your translation system generated Gauze. It could be converted into any number of English phonetic equivalents. Gauze however is written as ガーゼ (like Gaaze).
This one doesn't really have a clearly good transliteration, but if you literally do it, the pronunciation is "Go-su" or "Gousu." Use a long "o" sound when you see the dash, or the "u" following the "o." A better way would just be to have a line over the top of the "o" but I can't figure out how to type that on here...
Another problem is that with Japanese, you could also come up with "Goth" for this name if you pronounce it with a long "o" sound. There is no way to really discern what the phonetic intention was from a name this ambiguous.
