 Metron - Help Please!
This was probably the very first figure I purchased from Super7, a long, long, time ago.
Can anybody here tell me anything about it? Likely vintage, etc.
Thanks!

Looks like the standard size Bullmark Metron from UltraSeven. Probably 1971 or so.

Hawaii version - which is very common. It's pretty common to find them still sealed for $120 bones or so. Lose about $80-90.

It may be relatively common vintage but I love that toy for the brilliance of the monster and the, well, vintage-ness of that colorway. I guess this is common knowledge but the colorways for the Blobpus Hawaii and Tokyo issues were inspired specifically by this toy. The colors remind me of a lot of non-kaiju oceanic toys from the late 60s / early 70s, such as you'd find at amusement parks and seaside gift shops.

Yeah, it is a cool toy. I was mostly trying to pin down about when it was made. If it was in the early '70s, that makes it 30+ years old. Pretty awesome when you think about it. It is not an "antique" or anything, but does have some history at least.

That's a beautiful piece, Taro! I dig the colors on that figure.

just so happens it was either my first or second vintage piece i ever bought - those being gandar, pegasus and metron. followed by micrus. i agree, it's a very cool piece and one of the reasons I'm hooked on vinyl.
