wonderfestival is the best toy festival to look at but trhe worst to buy at. Id recommend superfestival. far less spectacular but at least you have a chance at the toys without queueing for 2 days.

Queuing for 2 days? Yah, I have heard this.
SO, if a group of us go....then we all get a shift waiting in line no?

I've waited in line for 2 days in the past for stuff, but if I was in Japan I'd kinda feel like it was a waste of time. So much to do!

Its pretty embarassing, but I would wait in line for 2 days in Japan.
I would not like it, but I would do it.

If you only make one trip to Tokyo though I would still say go for Wonderfestival - its the Lalapalloza of Otakudom - cosplay, hentai garage kits and more more more. If we get an official RFSO posse trip together we can make sure everyone has a great time! Ya'll can pitch a tent in my back yard even (bring your thermal undies though - Feb is COLD)

Wow, I was planning a trip to Tokyo for February, which I was initially going to do in December but have had to postpone.
This could work out wonderfully convenient

And to add to what datadub said, Wonderfest is amazing, but I would definitely go for the February show rather than the August one. Given the choice to freeze my ass off or sweat it off, I choose the cold. It was over 100 during the last Wonderfest.

Anyone seen any dates for when the Fest is going to be? As it stands...SFO to NRT for 13 about 13days is around +/-$900 without the hotel. It is pretty early still and prices might drop as the weeks go by.
